Saturday night is the first Saturday in the month and the barbecue buffet will be served at Don's beginning 18:00, steaks, sausages, ribs and many other items including Thai foods. 200 Baht. If your wife will not loan you the money to eat I will.

We are now accepting orders for our new bakery bread products. Can be orderded by phone or E-mail, [email protected]. We have a good selection of European breads and can also make some special items you might like.

The country store is almost finished and there is a good stock of sausages, meat, cheese and Mexican Food Goods. Fresh or pickled jalapenos are now available. The new gaucamole is in stock.

Drive a little and save a lot.

We have had several threads on tracking down Don's Foods, it's a nice drive with some interesting scenery if you continue on to theast and follow the Mae Kok.

Several directions clipped from previous posts.

Coming from the south, as I would, on the old Chiang Mai road, (route 1121), you turn left at the first set of traffic lights.

Don's is about 10 kms.

Easiest explanation is going to the Rai Mae Fah Luang park from town and and then following the signs for Pha Soet Hot Spring. You will eventually find Don's on your left hand side at a spot where it is very ambiguous what side of a big tree you are supposed to drive on.

....go south through the lights (wait till they turn green though) that you turn right for Pattaya Noi, where the Garden Show is held, and continue to the next set of lights and turn right. It's 10kms from the intersection.

As goski said, watch for the signs to the hot spa and waterfall.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a link to, or an embedded, Google Interactive map of Chiang Rai city and its immediate surrounding. With that, we could id the places, etc. being discussed and people could download, print the map so directions would be clear and concise. I saw one post the other day where a person said to turn left off Hwy. 1, didn't mention whether you were coming from the north or south, thus leaving me confused as to the true direction in which to turn. A map could alleviate this and similar written/verbal direction errors.

Just an idea, I am not sufficiently hi-tech to tell TV how to do this link/embed bu sure they can figure it out.

Scea.... I have only read a little about the interactive Google maps, but sounds very flexible, so to speak. Maybe the IT brains working for TV can arrange. They also have one that they sell to business to put in their adverts, but I like the idea of we members being able to add places of interest and comments/links to those places.

Do you know any staff members of TV??

I work 12/7 at present so don't have a lot of free time to get deep into this.

Love you posts by the way.. Ron

Cheers Ron, I suppose that one or two staff members would know me but I'm not sure that's a plus in our favor. :o

I might see if I can get up a suitable post and put in Forum Support, and leave it up to admin to mull on it.

It's a great idea because finding your way around in Thailand when you're driving can be a real pain and a large number of the inquiries posted on the forum are of the "where can I find......." type.

Mcgriffith may be able to come up with a suggestion if he's around.

I'll give him a PM.

Take care mate.
