Woman tied to tracks, run over by train

SURAT THANI : A woman was tied to a railway track and then run over by a train in Ban Na Doem district yesterday. The body was identified as 27-year-old Niparat Tawonporn. She had been cut in two. She was wearing only a bra and jeans and her hands and ankles had been bound together and tied to the track, said local police. Relatives told police Niparat left home about 7pm on Saturday. She said she was going to a market in Ban Na Doem, but then went missing. Police believe the woman was badly injured or even killed before being tied to the railway track, as they found bruises on her body. She had been run over by the Bangkok-Yala train and her body was found yesterday morning. Police also found her motorbike nearby, which she rode on Saturday night. Her body was found about three kilometres from Ban Na Doem train station.

Very sad and very weird. I hope there is some follow up on this (on the forum), it would be interesting to find out who managed to get this p*ssed-off at someone. Certainly not the easiest ways to kill someone. Seems like a mafia sort of thing.

How unbelievably terrifying for the victim!! RIP

Thai woman sliced in half on railway track

Bangkok - A 27-year-old divorcee was cut in two after being tied to a railway track in southern Thailand, media reports said Monday. The body of Niparat Tawornporn was found Sunday near Ban Na Doem village in Surat Thani province, 525 kilometres south of Bangkok, after it had been cut in two by a train, the Thai Rath newspaper said.

Ban Na Noem Police Colonel Narongyot Unhabandit said Niparat's wrists had been tied with her pink shirt, and her body left across one of the rail tracks.

As numerous bruises were found on her body, police speculated that Niparat had been badly beaten before being left on the tracks.

Narongyot said police suspected the murder was the result of a "love affair," noting that Niparat had divorced her husband last year and had many suitors.

Relatives said Niparat had left her house Saturday evening on her motorcycle, which was found near her body.

Thai Rath newspaper article (in Thai)

And I remember the good old days when Thai Rath would not only NOT digitally obscure the corpse but would outline it to more clearly show the victim, as would the old 191 snuff magazine. Only some visible secondary sexual characteristics of a victim would be censored. So there all you fellow doubters, tiny progressive steps are occasionally visible in Thailand.

Chaiyo!

A truly sickening act from a truly demented, vengeful mind.

There is no punishment quite up to snuff for this one.

They will catch them.

How could someone do such a thing to a human being? I don't know the story behind, but killing someone this way is too terrible.

So...the police/ambulance/mortician crew lift the blanket to allow the journalists to take pictures of the body? Jeez...just go about and do your job, stop posing around.

Agreed, what a horrible way to go and please rest in peace.

I used to do some work in rural Surat and believe me, nothing surprises me there anymore. One of my staff a few years ago had a young policeman who took a shine to her but she, who was married spurned any advances. What happens, he goes into their house/compound and shoots dead aunt, uncle and her 2 young kids before turning the gun on himself and taking the easy way out. That is the mentality in some places.
