I know of one person who signed with them, his experiences were not good and he ended up cancelling the contract and going with one of the other major ISP's (Loxinfo i think it was in the end)

The service he recieved off the new ISP was considerably cheaper, a darn sight more reliable and all round better 'value for money'

But.. saying that, its just one mans experience, doesnt mean its the norm.

Thanks. Do you know where I can find a coverage map for ADSL in Phuket? I currently reside in Kamala.

There is adsl in kamala (most)..

I reccomend not taking the Hinet or True 1000 baht packages unless you have only basic web surfing needs.. Try JI net at 512/256 for 2500 baht..

Oh for broadband.... <drools>

You can get broadband (ADSL, around 512/256 - give or take, TiT afterall) relatively easily (i'm told) on a lot of Phuket these days... its something i'm going to look into in the New Year...

If the line is available the cheaper CAT sponsered lines (hinet and true ISP) are 1000 baht for 1Mps for true and 2Mbps for Hinet. However these lines are shared 50:1 and the phuket link to BKK is woefully slow (I dont even think the promised 155 Mbit line is in place yet) for the amount of packages they are selling..

a 1 or 2Mbit line will often be down to 500 - 600 Kbps but its still cheaper than the JI Net offerings. Other problems is these no frills ISP's block many ports (no filesharing, tough internet gaming or VoIP) and dont provide basic services like a SMTP server.. See the threads in the tech forum of this site.
