Hello and Happy New Year to all.

The time has come for me to register my Chev Colarado. As I bought it new, it came with 1 years registration. That year is up in a few weeks and I was wondering about the process of re-registering. It is just a matter of going down to Nathon and paying the 900 baht at the Dep Motor Vechicles place, or are inspections by mechanics required. Also what is the deal with third party insurance? Is it compulsory here as in Australia?

Any info would be great!!

Hi Sandy,

The process is quite painless.Just head to the transport office, buy your 3rd party insurance, there is some offices that sell this outside, but of what I understand they also have one inside too now.Present all paper work at counter & that's it.Don't forget to take your book.

When you bought the Chevy last year, it probably came with a full year of top insurance. I suggest that you renew this one.

When you go to Nathon, you will go to the 3rd party insurance desk in the main offices. When you pay for this, you then go to the counter (No. 3 if I remember correct) with this paper and the blue book and get your Tabian (road tax to display on windscreen).

As said, simple. :o
