January 18, 200917 yr Hello there! I'm not too sure if I'm supposed this topic here, but here goes. I'm currently studying the UK and have just heard from a person that it is possible to buy a car here in the UK and bring it back to Thailand without having to pay the ridiculous import taxes if I actually live in the UK for one year. I was wondering if this is really true. I've been searching around for information on the internet and haven't been able to find much about it. Any help on this topic would be appreciated! Thank you, kkengvibul

January 19, 200917 yr If you are Thai, yes you can. Are you Thai? I know Thai's who have done that, after studying in the US or UK. A foreigner cannot.

Wifey had lived in Europe for >5 years.. we looked into this every which way in the last few years of our living in Holland.. I had a monster motor that would have been millions here.. There was no way we could legally get this agreed. Seems this 'law' is only for uber connected and powerful people.. Unless you know different.
