I got here on March 7. I thought they gave you a full month so I got a plane ticket leaving on April 7. The stamp on my passport says April 5. How much will I be fined and where do I pay my fine at the airport? Do I pay after I check in my bags at the passport/departure check?

You will be fined 1,000 baht, after check-in when you show your passport to immigration. No big deal.

Edit:

I have moved your question to the proper forum section.

It may well be 500 Baht as they give 1 days grace at airports.

The entry stamp is 30 days. The day you arrive is day 0ne.

The first day fine is waived only when you leave the first day. When you leave after the first day, you also have to pay the overstay for the first day.

Yes correct, your fine should only be a maximum of 1000 baht.

My advice is, arrive at the airport about 4 to 5 hours before your flight departs in order to allow time for you to be interrogated by the Immigration officers and go through all the red tape.

He can't go to immigration without being checked in. Anyway, for 2 day overstay he just has to pay the fine and is on it's way with no questions asks. This is just routine.
