Chat Room

Featured Replies

I know it's been mooted before, and that there once was a chat room.....but it WOULD be nice to come to Bedlam and chat instead of posting some banter in the threads....and lets face it, there is ALOT of banter in Bedlam.

What about a Bedlam chatroom?

I think that there used to be one, I remember meeting a few people in it.

So the software is probably still in place, just a matter of getting admin to restart it and someone to sit on it 24/7 making sure everyone behaves themselves.

Point taken.

But since it is a priviledge, not a right, there's no need to keep it open 24/7, just whenever the guardians of public decency are in the mood to supervise it.

It could be a random thing.

Although Thaicentric, it is an international meeting place so all sorts are on at all sorts of times.....you never know, maybe it will be open at the same time as you. Luck of the draw.

And linked to only through Bedlam, maybe.

You could even have chatroom-only "mods" that have no authority anywhere else but the chatroom....that would extend the operational hours.

No biggie....I just like alot of the banter that goes on here.

We could just give the more senior members authority over the less senior members.

Being as I'm 47,000 places higher than you it would mean that you would have to touch your forehead on the floor every time I entered the chat room though.

I believe it is not suitable with the present system, after the upgrade, it had to be dumped.

The old chatroom was dominated by half a dozen or so regulars who had their own lanquage, nik names and banter (usually revolving around Elsie's and Jayenrams drinking habits :)). They had all met at various functions and had their own in-jokes. It was difficult for others to join in.

I found my fumbling, arthritic fingers didn't allow me to stay up with the conversations of these regulars who all obviously typed at about 150 words per minute.

Nevertheless, it would be a good idea for some if it could be revived to some extent.

I remember one night I was having a good conversation with the late Buckwheat and some one claiming to be a 15 year old Thai girl from Phayao joined us and asked as both via the private chat line to meet her after school sometime.

We never worked out who it was or saw that nickname again.... can't even remember it now.

And as my curent member no. is half yours - I would be getting high in the order.

Shame that my earlier number is not active - I would be sky-high. (twelve hundred and something)

The inability to spell current would automatically send you to the bottom of any chatroom pecking order. :)

Sounds like how Bedlam was about a year or so ago! :D

I remember her/him/it.... never did figure it out either.

Wasm't me. Really.

Well, no don't think so, bit perhaps.

I can only admit to being not Patsycat elsewhere on another forum. And it was to spy privately on someone. That's all. All above board.

I popped in every now and then during my insomniac nights. I dont think I was part of the 'in crowd' and managed to ignore everyone and talk to everyone that would listen (at the same time I must add) :D:)

and yes thats how I became friends with buckwheat, later meeting up with him on his visits to Bangkok quite a number of times

Not inability to spell - inability to get this @@#@%$** computer to translate what I punch in (literally) to the words on the screen.

I spent time on Yahoo Messenger for a few weeks, chatting to some interesting young ladies from te Philippines (or so they said - but who believes who on the 'net?) But my fingers were typing one thing in one girl's box - when up it popped in another girl's box. Or at least - that's my story when it comes to court appearance.

Never touched 'er box, Guv.

That's a very Thai attitude you have there.....it wasn't me, it was the computer that made the mistake.

lol.... this is quite funny.

PS: Though I'm a patriot to my family members (sis in Fiji...) Humph is in Cambridge.... 'nuff said...

(never touched her box..... :) )

Dilemma's... TLW>.....

Anyway... Back on topic.... This is a funny thread.

The ghosts, Harcourt, the ghosts did it. :)

I can set up an IRC channel, make it invite only etc. if anyone's interested.

Is that what they call thinking inside the box?

Not sure...... perhaps we should launch a probe.

Since it has to do with computers...it would have to be a digital investigation.

Virtual Probing....

We should open a chat room and discuss...

Its a poor chatroom....it would be more useful if it told you how many peple were there before entering.....well currently 0 and likely to stay that way I imagine.

I take it back....there's a few peeps trickling in....:)

Just poked my head in the door, nothing much happening, so I left.

But then I was not back in Bedlam - I was almost out of the forum. Had to scroll back down to get home again.
