Cannot see the pages of this topic (before shows 14, now only 9, bottom left). I don't want to read everything so could be somebody already has this problem.

I use to red TV mostly by "View new content", but is a mess! Most of time it just show me a page, or nothing at all ( no new entries). If I'm lucky I can go to page 2, 3 or 4, the first few topics are the same every page and after start the old one. Very unpractical if you did.

Most of time when I want to read a topic TV log me out, so I must log in again, and again.

Personally I don't like on the "post information" the write "one minute ago" "2 minutes ago" but much more useful the real time, like 18.30 19 june 2010 (like the old TV)

It's all, but for my TV habits, very annoying.

Jinthing had first # 328 than next post jumps to 335 on page 13

Than I had (again) #328 and it again jumps to 335 on page 14

I have noticed a few problems when using 'my settings' but my main question is this:

How does one disable/enable the 'reputation' function?

I wish to disable it as I think that this function will denegrate the site.

I believe you are misunderstanding the "reputation" button. It's not like the old Star system for rating members but it is the reputation of the post itself not the member. If you feel a specific post has merit then you can increase it's position with the reputation button. Seems some members feel threatened that they may get a bad reputation.

Actually Mr Administrator, I feel you are talking about two different things. The 'rating' +key at the bottom of each post isnt even working at the moment and the REPUTATION business that is referred in one's profile seem to be unrelated at this stage. I was of the belief that it had something to do with the threads one CREATED. Am I wrong? Are we both right?

Not the threads but the specific post. Reading the IPB forum some think the topic should have the Reputation option. The bottom right is reputation for the post itself as shown by the snapshot below. I will have to take a look at the reputation option in profiles which I hadn't noticed before, especially yours.

You're right, the option doesn't work stating I've reached my quota for today. Seems my quota is 0 as I've never used it before.

Yeah, I take your point. However, there's an argument to suggest that it might actually reduce flaming - if people can just click a red minus icon to show their displeasure in a post, it may stop them writing abusive messages instead... Just a thought anyway.

Last time I checked my REPUTATION was still zero , so its a bit hard to belt me down from there unless you're considering negatives .

Were those usernames deliberately made into links by you, or does the software now automatically do that when it picks up usernames? Or is it Twitter style with @ symbols in front of names?

Any particular reason the poster "Location' has been removed from the posters box on the left? I know we can click to view the posters profile but that is extra work.

Not a biggy but if I am considering helping someone by answering a question it helps to know where they are. No good thinking about replying if they are in Udorn and my experience is in BKK.

You may laugh, but this "rating whores" issue is a real problem on some other forums, and this function gets regularly abused.

I get logged out at least once a day,don't know when it happens as I just find out by coincidence each time.

It would be handy if you had the option,just as with the old layout,to jump to any forum from in the new content page and also from the messenger page.But currently there is no drop down menu available on those pages.

Rating whores is a real problem in some forums, as is mis-use. I don't know, Thaivisa is a wonderful source of information (which deserves a better search function) but it is also well known for the aggressiveness and bitterness of many of its members. If I were George and the admin team, then I wouldn't dare to put in a minus rating in unless scoring was heavily biased toward the positive, ten to 1 perhaps. And minimum 1 year and minimum 1,000 posts is an excellent idea, better make that 2,000 posts and 2 years and then a rating weighted mainly based on reputation and certainly not number of posts. That should also be a deterrent against inflammable posts resulting in suspension, any suspension immediately resets reputation to zero of course

True - but it's better, surely, for a post to have a negative rating - which is nothing more than a number - rather than a whole torrent of abusive posts in reply to it, which is what is currently plaguing the forum. If people could use a "dislike" button for a post, they may choose to do that instead of venting, which may help cut out some of the negativity and vitriol which we're seeing so much of these days.
