Mel Gibson Strikes Again

Featured Replies

Mel Spreads More Hate

The mountain of race hate that the billionaire actor Mel Gibson appears to be now, has erupted again, this time against Blacks; Mel uses the N-word. (When will this expression of mental illness ever end?). Like a volcano, Mel Gibson is apparently good for one public airing of his racist blasts every four years.

The last one was in 2006 and against Jews while he was drunk and during a DUI stop. At that time, Gibson went, as Peter Sellers said in Dr. Strangelove, "a little nutty. Just a little nutty," and said "<deleted> Jews... The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world."

This time Mel Gibson hit the nutometer again, this time the revelation of his ugly words came during the equally ugly custody battle with his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, who's the mother of his daughter Lucia. According to TMZ.com, Gibson was caught on tape saying Y"ou look like a <deleted> pig in heat and if you get raped by a pack of ni--ers it will be your fault."

TMZ.com has been all over the Mel Gibson / Oksana Grigorieva custody case, so I will not attempt to repeat their work here. But even without the actual tape, word of Mel Gibson's blast is making it's way around the Internet. Zennie62.com blogger Suzannah Troy said "This is not new behavior from liar, adulterer, anti-semite, racist Mel Gibson but finally exposed by a gold digger who finally did one good deed and it wasn't because she was selfless but she finally exposed Mel Gibson's inner Nazi." Ouch. But it's hard to disagree with Suzannah Troy's essential point, which is that Gibson's got a problem. Someone should ask film pal Danny Glover what he thinks of Mel Gibson's blasts! And as a note, Celeb Jihad's just having fun with Mel's rant; it's not true.

He's just an old man who made some good movies.

Some people wont watch them again because of this and others just ignore the private or public lunacy of the people who make the movies or sing the songs they like.

Personally I've seen most of his work so there's not much I can do about it now. Not watching Mad Max again when I've already bought the DVD isn't going to help much.

Australians tend to use plain words, as people living in Thailand we should be used to those who have a derogatory word to describe each race.

Last week a drunk Australian offered to pay to have sex with my wife (and I was with her at the time) ....... we just laughed.

Don't boycott Mad Max as they were classics. However, the recent ones are not up to much, so I will not bother with any new ones. :D

This could have more to do with location than nationality.

Once I was in a Pattaya dance club with two attractive young ladies and a German guy offered to take one off my hands. He became quite persistent when told they weren't available so in the end we left.

If it happened in Chiang Rai I'd call the management.

When in the garden, Mel does not reach for a manually ( bio-mechanical ) operated, earth excavation implement. He reaches for a spade.

Some people seem to be easily upset with the wording others use. When it is face to face and intended to be a personal insult, that is one thing, but to take offense at a general statement, especially when heard, second or third hand, exhibits a little about both, the offended and the speaker. I have heard the N..... word used by comedians and the blacks in the audience, did not seem offended, I have seen a black call another black n....., and white people, honky and no one took offense, due to the manner in which the term was used. A drunk using what is perceived as a racist term, whether religious or ethnic, shows his weakness in multiple areas, including self control. If Mel's language offends your sensibilities, you may be able to send a message to him, in a much more direct way than TV.

There are thousands of newspaper articles about this incident, so no reason to send him a personal note. There is little doubt that Mel is really a prince of a guy.

She forgot to add wife beater to the list.

More content from the tape was released today and includes Gibson admitting he hit her. Per RadarOnline, On the tape, Grigorieva is heard asking him, "What kind of a man is that who would hit a woman when she is holding a child in her hands, hitting her twice in the face?"

Gibson responds, "You know what -- you f***ing deserved it."

Hey Black guys use the nig-er word all the time so why can,t a Cracker use it?

He's also a rabid homophobe.

Homophobe, I doubt it.

I have never seen any reference to him being afraid of other men.

Jingthing usually has the inside track on such things and does not normally speculate without reason. ;)

Yes, wife beater is the worst, but he is still on a roll. Today it was reported he has insulted Mexicans now too. He is after anybody not white, Christian, and straight. He fits well into America.

...and of course you are not prejudiced against anything or anybody?

Except Americans, it seems.

I expect he isn't from one of the many enlightened European countries that has to endure racist chants by fans during football matches. Or maybe he's from one of those countries that has recently elected someone from a racial minority as its leader? Hmm, America is the only place to have done that.

Does every thread have to revolve around America?

Funny, I thought it was revolving around an Aussie.

Was that me ? I do apologise.

PS. I'll offer more next time. :)

Nope

He was born In New York

They had to do a voice over to get rid of his Australian accent in the first Mad Max. Maybe we can overlook where he was born? :D

Well, I am an American and currently live in America and I am proud to carry the Enlightenment Age ideological tradition of America with me wherever I go. Yet, as every decent American should I criticize my nation to promote improvement. I firmly believe at this point in time that America is in need of improvement. One such area of improvement I could mention here is the need to counter the rising hatred for others justified by ideologies formed out of politics, religion, and American exceptionalism. Before either of you conservative pundits bring it in to question, I do not, nor have not ever supported Obama. So, my defense of American minorities does not originate with the election of Obama, but instead upon reason and logic.

So, I am prejudiced against anyone? Yes, I am. Racists, bigots, elitists, chauvinists, misogynists, and the list goes on. I am sure you get the idea. You might notice as well that this list contains ideas, so these are things people choose to be. Unlike you gentlemen, I do not have prejudice against something as superficial and undetermined by the person in question as skin color, sex ,or national origin. Yes, I have chosen to paint you with a racist brush for you have defended racism by defended Mr. Gibson's words. I might also accuse you of misogyny as this is also something else Mr. Gibson has expressed and you are currently defending him despite the fact he has done so.

I brought America into the conversation because Mr. Gibson is living in America and expressing his hatred in America society. The importance of this is that Mr. Gibson's actions are a part of the increasing number of social ills in America. Take the feelings expressed by white conservatives towards Latin Americans regardless of their illegal status. The Arizona law which targets Latin Americans for example, perhaps you have heard of this. Then Mr. Gibson makes comments about 'wetbacks'.

A few years ago a man by the name of Chris Brown hit his girlfriend Rihanna. They are both celebrities. Brown was not charged or sued for his actions. Many Americans supported him when he came under attack for hitting her. He still has a successful career making music. Now comes along the well known and loved Mr. Gibson, hitting a woman, threatening to burn their house down and forcing her to perform oral sex on him before he does so. Beating women and threatening rape? Is this a message that people in any nation should receive? These things are acceptable now? All of this from a man the religious right in this country praised for his Passion of Christ movie. Has the religious right in this country condemned him for his comments against Jews and blacks? I have not heard anything.

I could go on with one example after another. I say he fits well into my country because right now these disgusting behaviors are acceptable in my country. More and more people here are justifying their hatred, ignorance, and arrogance with their social status, their religion, or political views. They are defending people like Mr. Gibson the same way. Is this a unique American problem? No. Is the topic of this conservation happening, living, in America? Yes. So, what society might experience a greater impact because of this topic? I would think the one in which these events are occurring. That is not to say that other societies will not be affected but I feel it's safe to say that American society is suffering because this behavior goes unchecked.

He's just a rich, DUMB actor. His personal bigotry isn't real worth this much attention. He isn't a politician. If he's in a movie I want to see it, I will see it. If not, I won't. Life's too short ...

Hey Black guys use the nig-er word all the time so why can,t a Cracker use it?

Because whites used to demean, degrade and dehumanize. The black community has used it for group solidarity, identifying each other as members of an oppressed group. However, I should add that not all of the black community has approved of this and has tried to have the word eliminated altogether. Hip-hop and modern culture however has proved quite influential.

I can partly agree with this. Society should condemn this behavior so people realize this is not acceptable and then move on. I don't feel he should be supported in his career after this however, not unless he can clean his act up. I for one have always enjoyed most of his movies and the ones I own I am not getting rid of. Braveheart is still an awesome movie!

I have always felt that the art a person creates is different from the person. Which is why I have never hero worshipped celebrities, only praised the work itself.

If you think America has big problems with racism and the rest of your extensive list then you have either never been outside of the country much or kept your eyes closed while abroad. Seriously.

And, yes, America can improve in a lot of ways. Every place and every person could stand with some improvement as well. Even the people who are victimized in one way or another aren't perfect and could use some of the same improvement. Nobody's perfect - not even Jessica Alba.

I have never been outside America much to my dismay. Are you trying to suggest that other countries are worse than America when it comes to the social ills I mentioned? Yes, I am aware of that. Still doesn't change how I feel about them and still doesn't address why Gibson is wrong to engage in such behavior. You are saying that a person should be forgiven what they have done just because someone else did something worse than them. What kind of logic is that?

Next, the imperfection of a victim does not give justification to their victimization. Just because a person isn't perfect, by whatever standard you measure perfection, doesn't mean that they deserve to be victimized or that their attacker should be absolved of their crime, because of the imperfection of their victim. What kind of childish logic is that? I am sure Mr. Gibson felt his girlfriend was imperfect, which is why he hit her, threaten to burn her house down and force her to perform oral sex. By your logic, he should be forgiven, because she is not perfect and she shouldn't be offended or maybe even submit herself to his tender mercies all because she is human and therefore imperfect. I am stunned at your lack compassion, something I thought was a human trait, 'imperfect' perhaps but still human.
