Congrats To The Brits!

I saw the headline and thought Nadal had failed a drugs test........imaginative UFO....very 'War of the Worlds'.....

It's far, far more than just a drone, Koheesti  ;)

Is it a Harrier?

Reading the title, i thought perhaps it was about the fact that Roger Waters and David Gilmore got together for a few songs this past weekend.

Sorry for the thread drift.

Enjoy your drone pics.

Yawn. One missile into the UK will wipe it out. Without London the UK is headless. We should become more 'swiss'.

Much misunderstood man our Neville.

Decorated war hero who knew that Britain's defences in the thirties had gone to a crock of you not what. Without him playing for time, whilst behind the scenes ensuring the defence industry kicked into full gear. We would all be doing this in German.

The French who were by far the strongest military nation at the time, ( advanced Tanks, Submarines and a huge standing Army and Navy) as are Neville knew, when push came to shove, simply fell over.

I have one word for you septics.......................Haliburton.

I have one word for you septics.......................Haliburton.

And I've got seven words for you...

What's Haliburton got to do with anything??

Yes silly me.

I forgot it was only the US that could point fingers at the ethics of other countries supposed companies with impunity ( BP of course, just the focus of the witch hunt at present because of the " British " aspect to it's name which in reality is just that, a name )

This thread went off subject rather quickly. I thought it was about drones rather than droning on off subject.

OK, I getchya now. I didn't bother to download that html file about BP - you never know what nasty virus could be lurking in something you download from an Internet forum. By the file name it looked like another conspiracy rant anyway. Some nuts will attack any corporation depsite not knowing a thing about them other than that they are corporations. To some, that's enough to make them guilty of something or other.

Now, is that a cool looking drone or what? I wonder if it actually works?

ONE more thing, "septic tank" is out-dated and offensive Cockney. We prefer "Abrams Tank" as it is more likely what you'll get if you screw with us. ;)

As I recall, there were a few million people that assisted your friend Chamberlain in his "Peace in our time" quest.

Maybe they should also be given some credit for helping stop the Teutonic tidal wave.

Agree to both of the above ( sorry for droning on bad hair day)

Eco Factor: Drones to be powered by solar cells embedded with pigment found in purple bacteria.

Looks like a flying skate board ramp to me.

Not long after the Brits show off their super cool drone, the US Navy comes out with this...

U.S. Navy Successfully Uses Laser to Shoot Down Drones

The U.S. Navy has used a a laser weapon to shoot down four unmanned aerial vehicles in a test that rings up memories of Ronald Reagan's "Star Wars" missile defense shield in the 1980s.

The successful test of the Laser Weapon System off the coast of California was announced during the Farnborough International Air Show, which is taking place this week in England.

The technology, jointly developed with Raytheon, used industrial strength lasers, is more than just your run-of-the-mill PR exercise. In its write-up of the technology, Scientific American correctly notes that the shoot-down of the drones over water constitutes an advance over previous Raytheon tests which focused on static targets.

I wonder what really did bring down that plane heading for the White House on 9-11 ?

Additionally, Laser technology capable of blinding Pilots has been around for a long time. I think it ceased to be developed further due to it being against the Geneva convention (or whatever human rights legislation). B)

Lasar pointers will do the job (blinding pilots that is). Several idiots have been arrested for trying it for whatever reasons.

I think a laser pointer would struggle to blind a Typhoon pilot flying at over 1,300 mph and at 30,000 feet :D

I don't know why the sovereigns have to get dragged into it. These are both corporate abominations that follow the laws of no nation and whose only interest is the enrichment of their shareholders no matter the fallout. I'd like to see both of them put out of business. It'll never happen of course and more the pity.

As would a ICBM armed with several nuclear warheads so I guess they are harmless as well.

Anyway, lasers have been used on pilots as they approach for landing.
