Cameron thinks Iran has nukes. Gaza strip is a prison camp and China poses a nuclear threat to the US.

Maybe there is more than one village idiot on the political scene.

Well Mark, idiocy and ignorance might easily more common then not. Illusion tends to be a saviour as it stands.

But the Gaza strip IS effectively a prison camp, and China DOES pose a threat to the US.

No politician in the world, in the last 500 years at least, can be as dim as GW.....it's just not possible to be that dumb and lead a country. Possible exceptions might be the odd ruler that inherited the role, but none come to mind.....Prince Phillip would be close, but he is not a ruler.

There's a good reason Obama won't talk without a teleprompter - even if he's speaking to 6th graders.

A certain Brit said, "I think it is important in life to speak as it is and the fact is that we are a very effective partner of the US but we are the junior partner," he said.

"We were the junior partner in 1940 when we were fighting the Nazis."

Give us your thoughts about what kind of British brain trust would have said the above.

.....Prince Phillip would be close, but he is not a ruler.

Perhaps not. But his lovely wife has been known to have great influence and pulls more hidden strings than most are willing to accept.

No doubt.

(Lets not get on to Diana conspiracies ;) )

Prince Phillip is rather dim, and he would be close in ineptitude to GW.

I have not read anything said by Cameron that compels me to defend or to condem him....... You seem to imply with sarcasm that the above quote is made by an idiot....diplomatic humbleness aside (as the above quote may in fact be), is it such a stupid thng to say?

I think you would have to find some alot.... ALOT.... of plainly stupid quotes of Cameron's before you can justify comparing him to GW.

The whole world knows, so you must too.....there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of gaffes and inane comments that have been made by the VIT.....shall I amuse the forum by presenting some? :D

That a British PM would not know that Britain stood alone against Hitler in 1940, their finest hour and such. Is equivalent to an American thinking the South had won the civil war.

Cameron is a dummy. You will discover this as his term progresses.

GW was not a good president and I am glad he is gone. He was not an idiot. Idiots can’t fly fighter jets. Idiots can fly helicopters. I know, I met a lot of idiot helicopter pilots. Hillary Clinton is not a bright person. I knew her. Bill Clinton is a very smart person I knew him too.

I never met GW. I have met his brother on numerous occasions as he was the Governor of Florida where I lived for 20 years. Jeb is a good old boy and he was a good Governor and Florida is not like Texas, the Governorship is not a relatively honorary position. I watched and assisted Jeb handle 4 hurricanes. He is organized and really tall. He takes command during an emergency. He is easy to take orders from.

I think we will all find out Obama was a mistake. Too bad.

I left America with no regrets. I changed all my funds into other currencies. I don’t plan on seeing America again before I die. I wish them luck. I paid taxes and went to war for the country. I did my part now I live in Thailand.

I no longer have a dog in the hunt.

Why David Cameron is the new Dubya

Our young, energetic prime minister has more in common with the discredited former president than you may think

Hmmm...a few political and career comparisons, but nothing to brand Cameron as an idiot.

Not that I want to defend Cameron...I am ambivalent towards him.

I don’t think Cameron is an idiot nor do I think GW is an idiot.

Neither is a brain trust. Lets face it not knowing about the British involvement in WW II is a pretty serious breach of knowledge for a PM.

To refer to GW as an idiot is only an example of your lack of knowledge and prejudice.

Jimmy Carter may have been one of the brightest Presidents in America’s history but his Presidency was a disaster.

All in all it is easier to focus on people rather than ideas. Your rhetoric does little to shed light on complex problems and only serves to inflame your audience.

It may deserve a seperate thread......the quotes are numerous and humourous.

Interesting to note that koheesti's link above alludes to GW's discredit also.

OK, I'll be simplistic. Would expect a dummy who graduated from Oxford, albeit smoked pot at Eaton to know that Britain was fighting the Nazi's alone during 1940? Yes or no?

Would you expect only brain trusts from the UK to know that Britain was fighting Germany alone in 1940? Yes or no?

It is very obvious that Britain has a PM representing them who will cause them much embarrassment in the future. Just as GW made many Americans cringe along with myself the UK should prepare themselves for a similar experience.

Of course it is a matter of semantics. Yale vs Oxford. Dummy vs village idiot.

I think village idiot is worse than dummy. Perhaps because of my bridge playing.

Ok, I'll be simplistic. Cameron has made a mistake with a date. It may have been an unthinking moment, a slip of the tongue (he may have meant to say "the 1940's"), or he just didn't know that particular fact..... I don't know (and I don't care...I'm not defending Cameron), and I don't know what year the US entered the fray against Germany either. It doesn't make him a dummy. He may be a dummy, but one mistake does not indicate it.

Dubbya, the VIT, on the other hand.....lets see what errors of fact he has made.....

Bush confused Slovakia and Slovenia and called Kosovars "Kosovarians," Greeks "Grecians" and East Timorese "East Timorians.

When asked (in 1999) if he could name the president of Chechnya. Bush could not. Nor could he name the general who recently took power in Pakistan or the new prime minister of India.

Shall I proceed to prove my point, or is that enough band width wasted by all of us.

But the Gaza strip IS effectively a prison camp

Not too many 'prison camps" constantly shoot missles at their "jailers".

6. "There's an old saying in Tennessee I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee that says, fool me once, shame on shame on you. Fool me you can't get fooled again." Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002 (Watch video clip)

That's my personal favorite. But you have to watch the video when he gets stuck to appreciate it.

Here are some others that haven't made the list:

- "The Middle East is obviously an issue that has plagued the region for centuries." --Tampa, Fla.

- "On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."

- "I've now been in 57 states -- I think one left to go." --at a campaign event in Beaverton, Oregon

Koheesti:

Those last three didn't make the list because Obama said them.

I checked them myself and you're right, Obama did say them. Sorry, I just assumed since they were some pretty stupid statements that only a "village idiot" would make them. Now that I think about it, it wasn't too long after the "57 states" laugher that Obama became surgically attached to that teleprompter, isn't it? I'm not suggesting that anyone is a worse public speaker than Bush, but for someone who is supposed to be so brilliant like Obama, the expectations are much higher.

I think everyone remembers when Bush was in China and he tried to exit a press conference through a locked door. He looked pretty foolish there. I wonder how many people remember Obama walking into a window at the White House thinking it was a glass door. :D

Reagan wasn't too sharp either. Goodness gracious! There seems to be an alarming trend; American presidents and VPs that are dumb or outright idiots.

(BTW chucky, I think you took the wind out of koheesti's sails by preempting his planned "Aha!" when someone replied with a laugh ;) )

Then there is the current sitting Vice President...

Here are a few quotes about Kiwiland. I hope you enjoy them, Harry.

Sadly I have been unable to find any references to quotable people from New Zealand. Even their politicians are afflicted with the absence of personality.

For the first time in my life, I find myself agreeing with Lenin.

Barry Humphries quotes ( Writer, Actor and Comic, b.1934)

“I've never been to New Zealand before. But one of my role models, Xena, the warrior princess, comes from there.”

Madeleine Albright quotes

“If an English butler and an English nanny sat down to design a country, they would come up with New Zealand”

A country of inveterate, backwoods, thick-headed, egotistic philistines"...Vladimir Ilyich Lenin 1909

"If it would not look too much like showing off, I would tell the reader where New Zealand is." ....... Mark Twain 1897

"The first european to find NZ was a Dutch sea-captain who was looking for something else ... It takes its name from a province of Holland to which it does not bear the remotest likeness, and is usually regarded as the antipodes of England, but is not. Taken possession of by an English navigator, whose action was afterwards reversed by his country's rulers, it was only annexed by the English Government which did not want it, to keep it from the French who did."....... William Pember Reeves 1898

When George Bernard Shaw visited New Zealand a reporter asked him his impression of the place and, after a pause, Shaw is said to have replied: "Altogether too many sheep" ....... George Bernard Shaw 1934

"Terrible tragedy of the south seas. Three million people trapped alive." ....... Thomas Jefferson Scott

When asked his opinion of New Zealand: "I find it hard to say, because when I was there it seemed to be shut." ....... Sir Clement Freud 1978

I've afraid the ThaiVisa servers would crash if someone tried to post the volumes of quotes out there about the good ol' US of A . ;)

:cheesy: :cheesy:

Quotes from over a century ago are supposed to be a comeback to the evidence, some of which you supplied yourself, of the stupidity of American leaders?!?

:cheesy: :cheesy:

Harry:

This was my explanation for using somewhat dated material:

"Sadly I have been unable to find any references to quotable people from New Zealand. Even their politicians are afflicted with the absence of personality."

I see you are still unable to overcome that old reading disability. B)

I've afraid the ThaiVisa servers would crash if someone tried to post the volumes of quotes out there about the good ol' US of A . ;)

No doubt we could fill a library.

Does that detract away from what you, chucky, and I have presented here that shows American leaders to be less intelligent and educated than....(lets say).... yourself?
