Lot's of riders switching over to the new IRC though as it is stickier than the Sporty and doesn't puncture as easily.

What's the name of them again, 'something 77'?

I think he's referring to the IRC 77. I spoke to a guy a while back who has the old model 150 and he told me about a shop near McCormick Hosp that has the IRC 77's, which he says is a much better tire than the stock IRC 44, but that was for the old model. But he could probably order them for the new 150 / 250. Only problem is, I've looked for the shop and can't find it, unless it's a small Honda dealership about 1 k from the hospital going towards town. Maybe I'll go there tomorrow and check it out.

I was told today at hond the reason the 150 and 250 does not have the same key... It is because in europe they do not have the key shutter like honda has on the 150...

Someone mentioned a while back that they got the touring windscreen for their CBR 250, and the price, as well as noting that the screens for the 250 and 150 were different.

Ok, I've been to the two main Honda dealers here in Chiang Mai, and no one seems to know what I'm talking out when I tell them I want the Touring Windscreen. The dealer by the airport swears Honda doesn't make one, while the dealer on Huay Kaew doesn't have a clue, and said they will have to call Honda BKK to find out.

Whomever it was that got one, please send me a PM with the name of the dealer and the price. I don't care where it is, I'll pay for the shipping if necessary.

Thanks,

Last year with the 125 cc bikes in motogp... Next year 250 singles... Would that make more sense for honda to sell their bike now then? Would explain their choice of single and not twin...

ref: the touring windscreen. Just so people have info here without having to go searching. The 150 and 250 aren't the same. The 150's screen is available from jrmotors.com as well as honda for 1,339thb.

http://www.jrmotor.c...ze-cbr150r.html

A screen for the 250 is yet to be released.

btw, J1V, the screen for the 150 is in the broucher that was released the same time as the bike should you wish to take a broucher to the dealer that 'swears Honda don't make them'.

I think the windscreen in the brochure is just a tinted version of the stock one, I can't see any sort of 'touring' one, what's the part#?

I put the dark windscreen on my black CBR 250, about 500 baht and, IMO, looks much better than the clear one.

Dark screen looks much better but you can't shoot video through it :D

Click on that link to see the touring windscreen for the 150. It's the last part on the list.

Remember, this is the 150 we're talking about, not the 250.

My dealership told me that they were getting one for the 250 as well... So i said i wanted one touring screen... I have the black screen- but something taller would be nice... They have yet to get it... They had a part number and a price - it is a while back so i dont think they remember it... They are usually good about these things- but this time, not good:-(

in nst there are 3 main dealers i know that two of them have the abs in the shop and one with the non abs... Seems like they charge 104k for the non abs- and between 120k and 130k for the abs version... Anyone need a bike?

Ok, saved two picks to my flash drive. 1 CBR 150 stock - 1 CBR 150 with aftermarket windscreen as show above.

Went to Honda, plugged the flash drive in to one of their computers in the Service Center, open the photos, and lo and behold, they FINALLY understood what I was talking about!

Said it would take a week to order, then tried to give me a price of almost 1,500 baht, at which point I told them, in Thai - Sorry, too much - and wrote down 1,400. We settled on 1,425.

anybody know where has stock of an ABS CBR?? but ACTUALLY has it, not WILL have it! maybe,..... probably.... perhaps....... in the future?

There is a red CBR 250 with ABS for 130,000baht at the small Honda dealer PT Honda motor sales next to the hotel by the market in Khampaeng Phet. I saw it there last Friday 18th March.

Black and Silver were released in the first round back in December. Seriously doubt they'll be releasing different colour schemes for quite a while as the bikes haven't even been released in 90% of their markets yet.

Between all the regions the colours are black/silver, maroon/silver, gray/silver (Thailand) also available in other countries are an all black and tri-colour (white, red and blue).

With ref: to Faddy's muffler and downpipe:

It's made by the same factory where makes Endurance exhaust for CBR150R.

The muffler has a removable DB killer and NJT logo plate which is another brand for their racing team. The price is 6500THB/set.

Cheap, and not likely to last too long I'd imagine (Endurance).

Thanks, I thought as much but never hurts to ask the insider track

Another question, I am from the US and Although I miss my liter bike I am looking forward to the 250 as a good all around moto for here in Thailand. I did notice the single front disc rotor. Does this create instability in hard braking? I have never ridden a moto with a single rotor in front. As you know all moto's in US are doubles and quite large.

Single disk at the front is fine... good enough on the way home tonight when some teen <deleted> swerved accross me on his souped up sewing machine.

No instability and anyway it weighs a tad less than a 1ltr machine ;-)

What is the world comming too.

Next we'll be calling "charcoal" the new black

I had the Faddy downpipe on my CBR150, but I took it off for good after the third welded joint failed. Buyer beware.

Same thing happened to me though it was cheap and easy to have every joint on the pipe rewelded. Their stuff all comes from different places though so it doesn't mean averything from them is bad.

Having said that I think I'd more likely wait for the DBS full system or better still a big brand pipe once they start making them (if the price is OK). Will probably leave my 250 as stock when i get it for a good while.

I'm hoping that they'll have similar adjustable levers to the ones I bought from them for the 150. I also liked the look of the rear sets (made by people who used to work for NUI racing apparently). I went and had a look at them and they looked pretty solid.

Yes, Faddy supply different pipes from different companies. Mainly DBS and Endurance. The former with a generally good reputation, the latter with quite the opposite.
