I have a quick question to any and all forum moderators.

With regard to an obvious flaming post on "How to spot an American", why was the thread closed but not removed from the topic page?

My feeling is that moderation is an art, not a science, and it is done by human beings, not robots, so as Americans say, your mileage may vary ...

Maybe it has to do with Free speech.....suposedly an american virtue. But not allowing too much of it.

We don't allow mods in the J,e,b,b,i forum.

Well that thread IS closed now, and the OP WAS extremely idiotic, and not funny.

You've heard the expression "Better to remain silent and be suspected of being a fool, than speaking up and removing all doubt?" In some cases, like the one mentioned above, it's best to leave things intact, so as to cast any doubts aside.
