Too Late To Register The Car?

Featured Replies

I bought a car about 3 years ago but I have never had it registered in my name. I have the relevent paperwork but am not sure if it might be out of date or too late to register the car?

The car was bought in BKK while I was living elsewhere. The car is registered in Pattaya. It has also had a new engine fitted and I do have paperwork to say so and a receipt, also the book, but never notified the authorities.

To be honest I do not really know why I didi not register the car in my name.

Does anyone have any idea if it can still be registered and what I might need to do to register the car. I am now in Pattaya.

It doesn't matter how long you have had the car without registering it, IF the copy of the owners I.D card is still in date. This is the only thing you need to worry about.

If it is in date, take all the paper work to the MOT and you can do the engine change and change the name in the same day. You will need an invoice for the engine, or a copy of the registration book the engine came from. (to say the engine has been taken out)

Aha. Thanks for that. I'll get the paperwork looked at more closely :)
