Hi, we have just moved from BKK to Phuket, so my wife can relax whilst she awaits the birth of our baby next May :o

We have rented a nice house in Ban Nai Yang, a few hundred metres from the beach.

We need to get a phone line installed and then get connected to ADSL. I've checked previous threads on this subject, but would like any recommendations for ADSL providers in this area, ie with reliable coverage.

Thanks!

Firstly you need to find out if Nai Yang even has digitally equipped exchanges ?? And then if you are within the radius to the exchange that ADSL can work in..

As I hear some southern areas of the Island still cant get ADSL I am curious if Nai Yang can..

Speak to the TOT or TT&T if they can provide a line and if it is possible to get ADSL in that region.. Once you have a line from either of them you can choose your ISP.

Nai Yang is the beach by the airport in the north of the island, not to be confused with Nai Harn in the south :o

Any info? I don't want to get stitched up with a low-speed line, (although maybe that's all that is available.....)

I know Nai Yang as thats where the GF's family were and are from..

My comment was that if even some of the southern areas have no ADSL and they are populated with a muych higher density of farangs and businesses to pay for the ADSL systems then I would have no idea of Nai Yang being a lot more remote and rural would have..

Need to check with the telcos to see if the line ability is even there first..

If you can't get ADSL there. an option is JI-Net IPStar satellite. It's not cheap and the only reasonable packages are 256/125 for 2.900B/month (but it's probably not a shared line so you'll get the full speed) but they have limited bandwidth per month (2GB). But I have found JI-Net to be a very reliable ISP.
