Is there much to chose between the brands available here or is it down to personal preferrence? Are they all at Thai minimum standard or are some brands up to higher specs ? Do some have more options/availability here than others, or perhaps less prone to being faked. Thanks for any pointers.

Your local Thai electrical shop should stock a suitable consumer unit, depends on how many mcb's you want.

Never seen a fake one.rolleyes.gif

They really are much of a muchness, it's what you populate it with that's important.

I would avoid any that require special MCBs rather than DIN rail mount (Square-D are one that have their own breakers), if you have a standard requirement then no issue but as soon as you want something slightly unusual (split service maybe) things get hard.

Advantage of a DIN rail sytem is that it is very flexible and many accesories can be back wired on to the rail. I just dont like the method of clipping to the rail and the bus bar system.

Square D and Tchino M6 MCBs are interchangable and available everywhere, even the cut out in the top plate is the same..Easy plug in plug out fixing of the breakers without tools. I like this system, price around 110 baht a breaker

US pattern breakers like Gould, ITE, Westinghouse and MEM use a different bus bar system and the older pattern M3 breakers. Not very flexible at all.
