What'S To See In Pattaya That I Haven'T Already Seen?

Featured Replies

Probably because all the soi's in Pattaya host many brothels, while soi 6 / yodsak is the soi that hosts the city library. I can't think of any other reason.

But the city library has moved now, but I guess you haven't told your missus?

Can the mods please remove above post before someone who is not entitled to read it does.

Sorry pipo the remove button seems to have broken whistling.gif

The sanctuary of truth, that big wooden house ?

+1

We went there yesterday (wife & me) for the first time, despite being here for +5 years we never got to see it. I must say we were impressed, it's very beautiful, it is an very impressive building and the surroundings nice too, not many people around in the morning. When we were done we went to a small outdoor restaurant right next to the building and there was Thai dancing and sword fight. The sword fight was quite funny as they took people from the audience up and have a "fight" with the swords.

500 bath entrance fee pr person, same for Thais and foreigners, well worth it. A lot of renovation going on and it can't be cheap to keep a big wooden building like that in good shape.

At nearly twice the national minimum daily wage it sounds obscenely expensive to me.

This would be the equivalent of paying 5000B/GBP100 to visit a stately home or museum in the UK.

Well, you could just hang out along beach road and watch the jet ski scams, its not every day you can tell your friends back home, how some tourist were scammed out of their whole holidays budget. Or you could make a whole day of it and wait till night and watch the ladyboys frisk down tourist. Beach road could keep you occupied for several days, but then you might just get p....d, and decide to go back home.

Glad you enjoyed it Guzzi, you reckon "renovation", as far as i understand it, it has been under construction for about 30 years now with about another 20 years to go!! It is an awesome sculpture!!

Well, now is bike week in bang saen,

that will probably be something new.

My beautiful house, the admission price is 20,000,000 baht for that you get the keys

Could be, with all the fine details on the whole building it's a long haul to make, hardhat is mandatory when entering the building.
