Congrats. It's not a lot of money to pay when you consider the entertainment you're going to get from it. People have been comparing horsepower per baht, but smiles per baht would be more appropriate. Don't forget to post some pics when you get a moment smile.png

Thanks & yes that was the way I looked at it when I decided to go this route with the N250

Taking everything into consideration & what the majority of my riding

here in Thailand would be....I also thought this was the best smiles per baht

value.

Having owned 600RR & 900RR's in the US but not in Thailand.

I was not willing to pay the price they ask here for a grey import & what was available new

again priced at silly money for me anyway compared to what I have always spent.

Even a 2012/13 CBR1000RR in the US has a MSRP of $13,800 or roughly 423,000 THB

Compared to here where you pay pretty much double that & now with the new tax maybe 2.5x?

Ouch ohmy.png

Will post some pics but basically like the ones I have posted already

as it is stock smile.png

Here it was at the dealer getting ready to come home

I had mentioned in the cbr500 thread that I like the turn signals closer to the bike.

I was happy to see Kawasaki incorporate these into the front fairing

Looks smart with the black on the fairing. Nice and narrow too, so your mirrors are the bike`s whiskers.

Congratz mania, I'm so jealous. I have a feeling the delivery of my Green/black one is still a long way off.

Odd what you say about the kill switch on the side stand as I was under the impression it didn't have one. The new one I test rode at Kawa had no kill switch, I even talked about it with the manager/owner there. I've seen this mentioned on youtube aswell.

I spoke to Shay at Kawa today too, he said he wasn't sure if the old price will be honoured or not, there will be some kind of meeting soon about this. Good that you got yours at the old price, even though it is after the new law, so that leaves me hopeful.

Thanks Mac

Yes for sure has the dead switch & works well.

You know on your deposit, I know yours was before mine & mine was Dec 18th

I believe the new law came out Dec 19th & does not go into effect till 2013

I would hope you get the old price too even if delivered in 2013 since your deposit was before

Dec 19th

Also if your deposit slip was like mine it had the total price on there of 158,500

so that may also be in your favor.

Yes I was surprised to get that call today asking if I can pick up today.

Hope yours comes fast too!

Thanks yeah I like this color even more now.

The Red is also very deep & rich.

I would not mind the whole thing in this red actually.

Narrow yes & today was no problem threading thru cars at all.

Congrats on the new bike.

I was at Realmotorsport today (one Bangkok's Kwaker dealerships) and the bike looks stunning in all colours. My friend who works there bought on in black and grey for his girlfriend and added a nice Akapovic exhaust for her too. They are shifting a lot of units, yesterday they had 28 Ninja 250 outside their shop and today they had a delivery of 20+ 650s too.

looking forward to hearing a 1000km review from you soon. :)

Yes will have some good reports in a week or so.

I am leaving Saturday for a visit up country with the in-laws but when I get

back will give it a proper thrashing on some twisty roads.

But tomorrow is friday, so we expect reports tomorrow! You live in Chiang Mai, so get out early tomorrow morning and hit the hills. You have already said you are doing the hard break in(as will I) so get to it. We are waiting, no excuses. :)

laugh.png True & for sure the bike will do some miles & hills tomorrow

but.....wife is off work till next Wed so that is when the real spirited riding will start

when she goes back to work

She loves riding & will surly be stuck to that pillion tomorrow.

So I (probably) won't be going too quick....yet wink.png

I'm not to fond of the kick stand kill switch. Maybe on a scooter it is okay but on a motorcycle I think it cause a hazard. But you never know until something happens.

I would like to know what the KM/L is, from an actual rider not the dealer.

I think it would be very easy to disable that switch of you want.

Just bypass it & complete the circuit.

I will definitely give you a km per liter count after I run a few tanks.

I am still kind of undecided about the fuel type to run

Kawasaki states 91 benzine or gasahol

I have always run 95 gasohol in the wave & the engine responds crisp

I have read about gasohol & crystallization of rubber parts but have never seen first hand

if this has affected bikes/parts designed to run on it.

95 benzine I have not seen here but 91 is available at some places.

Gasohol is of course easy to find in either 95 or 91

If I were you I would stick to benzine. I've used gasohol with my CBR and after a few weeks the engine begins to bog. 91 benzine for me from now on. Until they decide to get rid benzine sales in Thailand.

Did you run Gasohol 91 or 95 in the CBR?

running the gasohol 95 in a New Honda Wave 125i for about 7 months now & the engine

revs & runs very strong

Just curious which gasohol octane level you chose for the cbr?

Thanks

I've used both benzine 91 and gasohol 91 in my CBR and I can't tell the difference, so now I mostly use G91(as it's much cheaer) and it runs just fine.

@mania: If your book says to only use benzine 91 or gasohol 91 then I would follow that. All of these so called problems with G91, I'm sure Kawa knew about this and built their bikes accordingly, so I would use whatever you prefer without worry.

After using G91 the bike began to big then I started and run poorly and the idle dropped. A friend of mine used gasohol 91 for more then a year and his bike would die at every light we stopped on. G95 feels stronger but still after some time the engine began to bog. Now I just stick to benzine. At the end if the day it's got to be your personal preference.

I know that in Europe even in benzine there is some alcohol/ethanol mixed in. IIRR its up to 5% allowed to call it "benzine/gasoline/petrol" (E5). Don't know if this is the case in Thailand. But i do not like such thing. I want pure benzine in the tank.

I use benzine whereever possible. I do not thoroughly trust the statements about gasohol is harmless. And i don't want to support the competition between fuel and food production in the world. Also its still dubious if gasohol is doing any good for the climate. But what can happen when using gasohol? The worse case would be to replace some fuel lines and some other parts. And the money for such repair you already got due to saving money when using gasohol. I dont think that any modern engine will break down because of gasohol. So simply use what makes you feel good. Have fun smile.png

Yes for me it is more of what is available.

I know I can search out a station that carries benzine

but it seems the majority I stop at do not.

Then we have the gasohol 95 VS benzine 91 question

(because as far as I have seen in CM benzine 95 is not easy to find? )

So given that option I am wondering if the 95 gasohol ( 95 octane gasoline + 10% ethanol )

Is better than straight 91 octane gasoline?

I will try a few tanks of each & try to get the tank close to empty before switching over & just

see if there is a discernible difference.

Nice 80km ride today.

No complaints bike rides nice.

Poor wife did not seem to like the spirited

riding up Doi Suthep

A couple of tight turns I thought the bike was a bit hard to pull

down. Then I caught sight of her in the right mirror during a tight left

turn & realized she was doing the side car monkey deal smile.png

After assuring her we would be fine & she should lean "with" me

things went a lot smoother

Poor thing though when we stopped she did let me know that she had

quite a few "moments" heheh

But I will say she paid me back later when I asked her if she wanted to try

taking it for a spin....without me on it of course.

Well she perked right up & said OH Yes!!!

So I found a big paved lot near a Big C & let her have at it.

I was a bit nervous as she peeled away

But she did fine & said she loved it...uh oh

Couple pics from today

Brave man!!!

My girlfriend assured me she could ride my 650...

"I have changed gears before on my dad's Wave"

"Fine, as long as you pay upfront for the excess on the insurance and cover your own funeral bill"

She hasn't bothered to ask me again since.... :D

I made a little video while she rode & had to laugh

when I played it back you could hear how nervous my

voice was as I was narrating.......

"there goes my wife on my new ride, I hope she doesn't drop it"

I was surprised how well my wife handled my Tiger Boxer and my CBR150. OK, she can hardly reach the ground on the CBR, but she has no problem and no fears riding through Bangkok traffic. These Thai woman learn riding bikes when they are less than 5 years old. At least mine did. She rode bigger bikes (250-400cc) of her uncles when she was a child - thats what she told me laugh.png

can you make video? how much did you pay for it? where did oyu buy it

laugh.png

well videos by nature are very large & if you go to You tube & search 2013 Kawasaki 250

you will see many have been posted. Of course many of the new 300 not available here

are also on youtube & that is the exact same bike except with more stroke in the engine & slipper clutch.

I bought it at Chiang Mai Kawasaki & have details in this post

http://www.thaivisa....25#entry5967071

Bike is riding very very nice & I am enjoying it.

Already thinking about a few things though

I would like a better rear hugger as the stock one is quite short

& does not prevent a lot of crap flying up under the bike.

Exhaust of course is a possibility later.

I have never been into slip on's as they do not really add anything

except sound & reduce weight a bit so if I do it will be a full system.

Other than that nothing needed for now really as the bike does well in stock form

for now.
