Bought a LG home theater system last year, and up until last week, had only played locally purchased DVDs. Then, I tried to play some DVDs I'd brought from the States. All were ejected due to "regional code." I hadn't even thought about this possibility when I bought it, thinking (for some reason) that over here DVD players are set to the "all" regional code (my Pioneer was).

Anyway, mass Googling has not been successful. In fact, in some cases, "no hack available" has come back against my machine model (LG HB806TM).

Any ideas before I revisit the shop where I purchased it? Am I possibly out of luck?

Can't believe the DVD authorities would make it impossible to change regional codes -- ironically, I can't play US DVDs, all legitimate -- but I can play the Thai DVDs, all with questionable pedigrees. So, changing the code to allow "all" would not be questionable.....
