PATTAYA:--A suspected drunk driver destroyed his own car and damaged two parked vehicles which in-turn damaged the roof of a house, in a high speed road crash on the train track road running along the east side of Pattaya late on Saturday Night.

Police and rescue services were called to the section of road behind the Nong Yai Temple just after 10pm on Saturday to deal with the accident. Their efforts were initially concentrated on a severely damaged Pink Nissan NV driven by Khun Sitipon aged 42 who was suspected of being heavily intoxicated. He was seriously injured and rushed to Hospital.

The passenger in the vehicle, who refused to give his name, was less seriously injured but also taken to Hospital as a precaution. Two parked vehicles on the left side of the two lane carriageway were damaged. Both belong to nearby food vendors who were working at the time of the crash. Witnesses saw the Nissan NV approach at speed and spin out of control and the vehicle was seen to initially come into contact with a parked Grey Mazda pick-up which was shunted into a Blue Ford Pick-up.
