If he does this he deserves the sack!

Alan Pardew is considering a £6 million bid for England international Darren Bent, who has been told he can leave Aston Villa.

That would be a total waste of money even at 6m, i agree with you uptheos.

He will always score goals - and you can't deny Newcastle need some.

I agree we need some goals but I don't think Darren bent is the answer. We would be better getting Andy Carroll back but Mike Ashley will not pay the money Liverpool want for him.

He's not wanted at Villa, is that the sort of player the Magpies want to fill Jackie Milburn's shirt? biggrin.png

Centre forwards are legendary at Newcastle.

Even Alan Shearer,s shirt who no one can fill. one of the best striker to play in the Premiership.

If the geordies want someone that calls themself a striker so bad then they can have Jermaine Defoe for a fiver.

To seal the deal we'll thrown in David Bentley's left over hair products providing Mike Ashley pays for the juggernaut

Posted

so,he lost his place to benteke ,no huge shame in that .and the way villa bought him no doubts he will be earning large ,so comes as no surprise that the penny wise scots boy Will think he can better with his dollars .but Will bent take a wage drop? stick bent in the box and give him a decent supply ,which is the way pardews teams are set up to do , bent Will get you 20ish goals @ 6mill ,in todays market ,imo thats good value for money .

The Joe Kinnear appointment is nothing but an Ashley ploy to get Pardew to walk away from his 8 years contract ie make life impossible for him.How elae could it be explained ? Pardew staying 8 years was never going to happen anyway. Feel sorry for the supporters.Great club just slowly sinking into the Championship

What sort of brain fart led to that absurdly lengthy contract anyway ? Mind boggling. Newcastle had that one very nice season and bam(!), a nearly lifetime contract. Followed soon thereafter with the bottom falling out.

but it was ashley gave pardew the 8-year contract in the first place? so how does that work?

Pardew aint going anywhere....he might be an arse but he's hardly been given the funds by Ashley.

His best case scenario is finishing top ten....with the players at his disposal no mean feat.

Under Ashley their best hope lies through the youth development methinks so Kinnear could well be useful.

If really think that a hard nosed business man, and if he's anything he's that,Ashley aint gonna put a clause in limiting pardews compensation? really? i suggest you think again. And Sometimes Football fans make me wonder they moan when there's no stability or long term planing within a club. Yet when an owner takes a 'punt' and does something that suggests the plans are long term and suggests stability they still

find fault.

I agree. Joe Kinnear is a great manager, particularly for younger players.

The first 11ish pardew has is fine and will happily compete in the top half of the prem but the 'arse fell out' because the squad was to small/thin to cope with prem push and a season in the europa league common scenario. changing tact slightly, with the proposed thinning of the spurs squad, i'm wondering if the same 'scenario happening isnt crossing vb's mind!!!!!!

Not saying its a great appointment, tbh I would have thought someone a touch

more articulate? may have been more appropriate?, But Sounds like if you work with ashley, he likes you and things dont totally go pear shape, he works with loyalty and trust, not such a bad thing 2 trade with/have in today's football world.

Kinnear covered himself with glory with his interview on Talksport. For an intelligent man, allegedly,Ashley makes some very stupid decisions on the footballing front.

Newcastle have been a joke for years, and this sums it up. More clown like capers at Sid James Park

Yeah. listened to that. He got loads of his facts wrong, didn't know players proper names and then gobbed off about how he could call any manager in the world if he wanted to blink.png

Difficult to be the worlds greatest football man and an academic too.smile.png Remember the " Insomnia" gaff as well resulting in the player wanting out.All going to end in tears,Pardew's and supporters.

He also rconed he signed Tim Kril, which he didn't. This is just Ashley's way of pushing out Pardew without making a big pay off.

Posted

Apparently Kinnear said in an interview last year that if he had to, he would take a position as Dir of Football if that was his only route back into management.

Posted

kinnear reports directly to ashley, pardew has to report to kinnear. that's about as clear a case of constructive dismissal as you'll ever see. pardew should just walk out and sue ashley now and save time.

Yep, it certainly seems like a constructive dismissal, I don't know why he just didn't employ Coco the clown as doctor of football, and really make it obvious.
