Snale In My Yard So Many Since Flood ,,,

Featured Replies

What can I do or spray for snales in my yard they are so many now since the flood I need to do something about them . Any ideas or spray I can get ?

Thanks in advance

Home grown escargot, what more could you want? A little garlic butter and good french bread!

I used to just pick them up each morning and throw them into the vacant block next door. It does not take long to reduce the population. You can also buy Diatomaceous earth from a pool shop and sprinkle that around the base of your plants, snails find this stuff very irritating and will not crawl over it. Other than that find some snail pellets or the thai equivalent and kill them.

snails and also other insects are seasonal, at least in my place. I went through the 'snails' party from October to early December, I did pick them up and put them somewhere, effort for a week then they mostly gone !

Depends on what sort of snale you have there ... some are poisonous.

Have a read of this post, and there is one or two which refer to them being able to be consumed ... or not.

If you see the above ... then simply run some implement across them and the snail eggs are gone.

.

You have duck deficiency.

Absolutely correct

We live right next to a small seasonal stream but we always had terrible snail problems. Those big huge disgusting ones were everywhere, eating everything- producing babies that ate everything. Then my sister-in-law who lived right next door got Mr and Mrs Duck. They wiped out the snail population. quite literally. She had them for maybe a year or two then gave them to someone else. (She had a short attention span). Anyway, snail problem never returned. and its been a good ten years at least.

Metaldehyde granules or pellets, available at every farm supply shop under several brand names.

I recently bought Deadmeal, 200 baht/kg 5% Metaldehyde granules. 1 Kg covered about 700 m² of lawn. Water the lawn plenty then spread it and don't water for the next 48 Hours.Apply early morning or in the evening.
