Sliding Door Lock

Featured Replies

I am looking for a lock with euro profile cylinder for sliding doors in Pattaya area.

I have attached a photo from a door i have seen in Viewtallay condo, but i have not seen it in any store.

This is for thin doors and have a hook like locking mechanism.

If any have seen this i would appreciated any direction where i may find it..

Thanks in advanced.

I'm not sure where to find it but I am curious. Is it a wooden or pvc door that you want to install the lock in? I have pvc sliders I would like to beef up security on.

Take the picture to one of the local door/window manufacturers and show them. Maybe they can order it for you.

After you get that lock installed - for extra security you can cut a length of bamboo or other straight stick to fit the length of the door slide tightly - lay it down in the slight trough. With the pole in the trough the door cannot be opened from the outside without wrecking the door (which could happen if there is a determined thief - especially without a pole).

Looks like a standard sliding door lock to me. I assume the round bit around the barrel is just for show.

Home Pro, Home Hub or any hardware shop have replacement locks normally in the area with door knobs and other bits and pieces.

I replaced a couple of these locks a few weeks ago. They come 2 parts.

European style ? Go to a European Dealer !!!

Hafele, South Sukhumvit Road, oposite of Outlet Mall !!!

I wanted locks for sliding windows, but nowhere can I find any in Chiang Mai. There are some available, but not for type of window we have- aluminium.

I have thought of using the length of wood etc in the trough, as suggested, but breaking the glass would access the bit of wood as easily as the latch.

I want to install it in different doors, mainly Steel doors as for now i am using padlocks.

But most important is to get lock with euro cylinder as i have door a set with master key from china manufacture. 7 locks with individual 6 keys and a master set of 6 keys.(4500thb)

I will have a look at Hafele next time, i have seen the sign but not been there..

I have looked at most shops, homepro, homeworks, home depo...and local hardware stores, but not seen any euro profile locks for sliding doors.

Thanks to all who replied....thumbsup.gif

If they are that determined to get in and break the glass, It doesn't matter what kind of lock you have. A piece of wood laid in the track is as good as you are going to get. At least it cannot be jimmied open with a pry bar.

If it is installed like all the other slide doors i have seen in Thailand, that stick would be on the outside.facepalm.gif

Hopefully for the OP it is done western style.

Laminated glass is hard to break. If it is normal glass you could add a foil to make it stronger and more time consuming to break it.
