Seen from that perspective, it does not look too bad :)

yes, the fact that the rubbish bins on the beach are not for the tourists, they are for the business on the other side of the road so they dont have to smell their own rubbush

The city can make money by allowing vendors to use the street for special events, but are loathe to spend any money cleaning up afterwards

I think not cleaning up is a Thai trait. The city where I live is filthy and rarely cleaned.

At least, by removing the flower beds, they did remove the unsightly mess left after the tents came down.

Only natural, as they do have other priorities. What, you want somebody to have to skip a Benz payment??? w00t.gif

Get with the program.

If posts on this most interesting of topics of all time dryup, if someone can find someother roadworks, please let us all know about it. (add pics of brackets, if any)

I dont think many people care about other roadwork...The promenade use to be special place even

in its run down state...

I'm not sure it is totally on topic since the title is north pattaya. But I for one would love to see a walking tour of the entire new beach road promenade.

Last few nights i been trying to sit on pile of bricks on the promenade, not really bricks, those brick looking thingies that are used around palm trees.

This week it has also been possible to sit down on Beach rd, near to entrance to Walking st. There are large piles of bricks that will be used to finish the last 100m of the road. Every night people are sitting there.

But the small piles, 4-5 bricks self made seating arrangements, after sitting more than few minutes, bum gets soar. No fun.

Some of the typos on this page are simply adorable... "flee market"... "bum gets soar".... I wonder if there are any hidden messages in there...?rolleyes.gif

No, nothing hidden, at least not intentionally. English can hard sometimes

What a pity... I was hoping for someone to post a picture of a soaring bum!!

(I hope you realize that I'm joking... I'm not a native English speaker either.)

Large speed humps going in on the road, hope that keeps traffic speeds down.

They:

-build an ill advised expressway along the beach then build speed bumps.

-renovate the beach then stack thousands of sandbags when finished.

-have a trash picking show but when you look, trash everywhere.

-promise to get rid of the jet skis thugs but they are still there years later.

-commit to boater safety but still have yaba heads overloading the vessels.

If the city manager had a brain, he would probably take it out and play with it.

The new "Hitler salute" street lights. Tell me, are these modern lights for show only? They do not seem to have any wiring connected to them, just bolted into the concrete. In fact, any of he new lights along the new promenade do not work.

Are you suggesting that the city manager should commit suicide...???

I wasn't aware the city manager was in the least unhappy about anything. Are you?

In fact, I'd imagine he's doing quite well.
