Kittiratt to sue demonstrators laying siege to Finance Ministry

'Kittiratt' to sue demonstrators laying siege to Finance Ministry headquarters

BANGKOK, 26 Nov 2013, (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittiratt Na Ranong has instructed law officials to file criminal and civil lawsuits against demonstrators who have seized the Finance Ministry’s buildings. He also vows to disciplinary and legally punish ministry officials who assisted demonstrators in the seizure.

The order came after the Finance Ministry and the Budget Bureau were besieged by rioters on Monday. Mr. Kittiratt said the episode has caused damage to the Finance Ministry, but added the Budget Bureau can still function despite the seizure thanks to its data backup policies.

Minister Kittiratt said on Tuesday he would send his legal team to press charges against the core members of demonstrations and those involved in the seizure. He said the cutting off of electricity and water from the buildings of the ministry and the Bureau of the Budget has caused malfunctioning to the two agencies’ working system; thus he would file civil lawsuits on those responsible for the attack as well.

Finally, he vowed to take disciplinary and legal actions against the ministry's officials who had assisted demonstrators in the seizure.

Might be the next political name...the sewer party.

I bet he's got the hump because they pinched his signed photo of Thaksin from his desk. biggrin.png

He should indeed make these naive protesters realize that they now turned into criminals and should be punished.
From a peaceful protest it, as everyone could guess, already turned into a low level mob, seizing government offices, itimidating the media, hitting a photographer and stabbing a red shirt with a knife.
If nothing is done quickly, the insane Suthep will continue to "upgrade" his protest to install total chaos and destroy democracy. He is a criminal that should be locked up.
Launch civil lawsuits against the demonstrators who totally disregard the law, distrub the running of the government and the well being of the other citizens, is the minimum the ministry can do. More charges can be applied later when these protesters start to resort on violence, ... which will certainly come.

Seems fair enough to me, they have broken the law by invading govt offices and so the leaders should be charged as such.

Suthep should have been in jail a long time ago anyway, along with Thaksin, Chalerm and his boy and the vast majority of the rest of Thailand's so called politicians on both sides of the colour divide.

Good luck Thailand, your going to need it.

I suggest they arrest ALL the criminals. Every single one. The entire elected and appointed government would be gone.

Hit the reset button......

but we all know that's not going to happen.

Haha.

You are by far the funniest person on TVF.

Thank god you are safely nowhere near being able to influence the educated.

If they had burnt the place to the ground, should they then be suitable candidates to be party list MPs?

Easy solution to all this. Dissolve all the parties and every person involved in politics over the last 50 years. Knock down all the ministries in Bangkok. Build a new capital in the middle of Nakhon Nowhere. Let all those who want to <deleted> about with the country's future go there, but not give them any money whatsoever.

Yes, it's absolutely crackers, and absolutely perfect for a banana republic.

Thank you very much :D

I indeed do my best to diffuse a bit all these most depressing posts with a bit of light hearted criticism (of the Dems' supporters who, strangely, side with the ones who intent to overthrow not only an elected government, but also democracy as a whole).

I appreciate your encouraging words

He's not really upset with them, the threats to sue are just another amusing 'white lie', to allay alarm and avoid a threat to the PTP gravy-train calling an election. wink.png

Here is a funny pickle, he does not respect the rule of law, Constitutional Court ruling, because it does not fit in his agenda, but runs to courts to file charges when it suits him

I hope those charged bring it up and counter sue him for double standards, hypocrisy and most of all stupidity.

I also hope they demand to see paperwork he owns Finance Ministry, as it does belong to the people, NOT him or his cronies.

It might be embaressing for some of Kittyrat's internal memos, national security figures/memos cross Ministry memos, etc to be found/given to the protestors (now renamed rioters by his lorship) and made public.

What democracy are you talking about? surely none here in Thailand

Well that is one way of avoiding the open admission that you support corruption run wild.

Getting to be like America more and more. Lawyers are turning in to suing experts.

They don't have all the nanny things that the states have or the paranoia that the states has but they are working on it.

Thaksin to sue, Chalerm to sue, Kittiratt to sue, sounds like the whole party are in the sewers.

The Thais are thrashing about. These Thais, they are something else.

Apparently they also injured 50 Russian tourists on a bus.

If you're going to blame them for the stabbing, no reason not to add other unrelated things.

Up to you to come up with fantasies.

The fact that the poor old man leaving the red shirts' peaceful gathering was stabbed by a vocational student stays.

The Dems' protest has turned criminal, with intimidation, violence and government building invasion. Not to forget the homemade bomb that was thrown at police trying to keep the mobs under control.

If you want to throw in a bus of tourists, up to you. But I prefer to stick to facts :D

It is a fact that a bus crash injured some Russian tourists. Just as it is a fact that a red shirt was stabbed by a vocational student.

Linking either of them to the anti-Thaksin protests is made up.

In thai society, as with most, there is a background level of violence that persists with or without political upheaval. Drunks, students, domestic and road rage all exist. Whether you like it or not, the current protests have hardly moved the meter needle, while in 2010 it had to be recalibrated to a higher scale.

He is the minister of finance. Since when is law enforcement, prosecution and indeed making legal judgement part of his responsibilities?

Another bully, whose "little white lies" render his credibility non existent.

What is interesting is all these cabinet ministers and red shirt leaders making threats against anyone who protests, including using the law and violence. Surely, the great leader Yingluck should be leading her party, and making appropriate comments. Not allowing these buffoons to blow wind - or are they being instructed via Skype,

When will someone punish other criminals? You know, like those responsible for illegally issuing a passport and refusing to answer question about it.

'Kittiratt' to sue demonstrators laying siege to Finance Ministry headquarters

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif Sue the entire nation then, because Mr. Kittirat and his Finance ministry minions stole the nations entire taxpayer money to enrich themselves at their expense. Nothing wrong from the affected people to technically get back, what is rightfully whole heartedly THEIRS and literally spit the white liars in the face wai2.gifclap2.gif
