BANGKOK: -- An anti-government protester has been arrested for looting police equipment from the clash in Bangkok last month, according to the police.

Police said a civilian has informed the police that the suspect, identified as Mr. Jakkapong Boonrueng, 23, had stolen some police equipment during the deadly clashes between the People′s Committee for Absolute Democracy With the King As Head of State (PCAD) and the police near Thai-Japan Stadium in Din Daeng district on 26 December.

The police then reportedly arranged a team to search Mr. Jakkrapong′s house in Bangkok′s Hua Mak district and found a number of items issued to the police force.

It is reported that Mr. Jakkrapong had stolen a bullet-proof vest, a helmet, a shin guard, a club, tear gas ammunition, a police uniform rain coat, two shotgun cartridges, and a green flare.

The suspect reportedly admitted that he attended the protests on 26 December, and explained that he stole the equipment after the protesters had stormed into the Ministry of Labour building.

Starting to wonder, with so much equipment that has been stolen from the police lately, if it really was stolen or it was bought.

Oh the irony. He's wearing a Red Bull singlet.

(BTW, people without biceps should not wear these shirts.)

Ain't it though...another runner from the law. Goes to show money & influence can make a person much harder to catch...and in Thailand maybe impossible to catch.

with his height under 130cm it was easy for him to sneak into the van through the window. But how was he able to carry alone so much?

Glad they caught the alleged thief, ........ if only the BBiB (Brave Bib) could be so quick in finding the "third party" murderers and bring them to justice.

Of course if he had been the heir to the Red Bull fortune and not just wearing a shirt, he could have stolen all that equipment mentioned, a gun, shot a policeman and he would be a free man. His real crime is that he wasn't born into an wealthy, powerful and entitled family.whistling.gifwhistling.gifwhistling.gif

isnt it amazing that the police also had their own protesters gear, whistles on thai neckbands etc, boy they must have been undercover policew00t.gif and they probably helped him carry it all to his bike/car for the get away, no way he carried all that by himself.

hope this dumbass gets the maximum sentence.

Yea! he should get a public flogging, to discourage any more stealing of equipment.

Hahaha How hilarious.

Yet another CAPO well timed and obviously staged new article distributed by none other than Khasaod the 100% red shirt press unit.

They failed with the last one when nobody else bothered to report it because it had as much credibility as a twitter posting.

I am 110 KG and work out almost daily and I would not be able to pick that lot up and make off with it, have you any idea how much just the armored vest weight on its own? This weedy little chap who must be 60KG soaking wet would be able to run off with all this?..... Lol

More fantasy crap from CAPO.... Give it a rest, we are not convinced, anyone not red oriented has far too much intelligentsia to fall for this.

The stuff was found at his home, he wasn't out wearing it on the street. Do you think he is a billy-no-mates and carried all that stuff by himself?

One set of crowd control equipment? I'd much rather find the 300 or so automatic weapons stolen from the southern army base a couple years ago.

You have to ask the Don of the South (Suthep) where in Pattani those weapons are.

This guy only has started the new year with an oath, he will use his motorbike in full safe and he was in need.

As the anti-government-protest insignia were not stolen they should not be displayed in the mug shot. Rather cheap attempt at discrediting the whole anti-government movement.

What? I didn't they had an insinia. What is it a swastica?

Don't need to attempt discrediting the movement, they discredited themselves quite a while now.

I wonder if they found any guns also?

Didn't had to: he had the green flares.... 2 of them.... Must be a threat to national security this guys cheesy.gif

Policemen losing a lot of stuffs these days blink.png

But they probably set up a tasks force... for the green flare....

Last month weapons reported last week, not so important...
