Got my report receipt back today, April 5th- was sent on March 3rd to Immigration Chaeng Watthana and mail forwarded to Lat Phrao and arrived there on March 10th. This 90 day report was due by March 18th and my new receipt says the next one is due by June 17th. I was glad to get it today because I was going to go to Lat Phrao Immigration office on Tuesday to try and get it sorted out. Now I am glad I waited a few extra days before going and thought I would just post this to let other know of my situation.

Here is a news story from Bangkok Post online. Wonder if it means the monk is moving out of CW soon...

Government offices open Tuesday

Sat, April 05, 2014 05:01 PM

Anti-government protesters have agreed to open all government offices starting Tuesday, except Government House and the Interior Ministry.

The People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) said government officials except those of the two agencies could go back to serving people from April 8, said secretary general Suthep Thaugsuban after a meeting with the PDRC's allies on Saturday.

However, caretaker ministers may not enter the offices and the PDRC will put up a sign saying officials agree with the reform on the gates, he said.

"We shut down Bangkok in the hope that Yingluck [shinawatra] would resign. We overestimated her. She didn't care one bit about the troubles faced by Bangkok's people. When we restarted Bangkok but kept government agencies closed, it [the government] forced officials to work in remote offices, causing troubles to low-ranking officials," he said.

"That's why we decided to open government offices. However, the officials may not take orders from Yingluck and the government. They can only serve people and they must allow us to put up signs on the gates saying they would cooperate with the PDRC's reforms. They also need to take good care of these signs. If they are torn or blown away, they will have to fix them or we will close their offices again."

The PDRC left out Government House because "this office does not serve people but rather Yingluck".

As for the Interior Ministry, Mr Suthep said he did not trust caretaker minister Charupong Ruangsuwan who had accepted Nattawut Saikuar's proposal to separate the country.

I need to do my 90 day report on 12 May and my Extension of Stay on 15 May. Can someone please confirm that there is a 7 day grace period for the 90 day report, and that I can presumably do them on the same day?

With Chaengwatana still closed AFAIK, will use Major Hollywood in Suksawad.

You can do your 90 days reports up to 7 days late.

You can do your extension up to 45 days early,

You can do it at Suksawat.

I sent my 90 day form to Chaengwattana late Mar and it went directly there. It was due on 11Apr but didn't receive the receipt until yesterday. Guess they have a bit of a backlog. Was in a bit of a panic earlier until I read the posts here.

FWIW, I had a 90-day report due middle May. So I decided to take a small chance, based on member reports here, and instead of traveling to MH as I did for the prior one, I returned this time to my normal habit of mailing mine into Chaeng Wattana at the end of April via EMS.

EMS tracking shows it was successfully delivered to someone and signed for the very next day at Laksi. No "undeliverable" or "failed delivery" notations like some folks got much earlier in the protests process.

I haven't received my return receipt in the mail as yet from Immigration. But since my actual due date was just a couple days ago, even normally, I wouldn't be expecting the receipt back in the mail for another week or two. Even though they want mail-in reports sent in 15 days ahead of time, they don't appear to actually process them until around the actual due date and send the receipt thereafter.

Just as an update on my prior post above: today I received by return mail my 90-day reporting receipt from Thai Immigration.

I had mailed my 90-day report at the end of April to (the still closed) CW Immigration. The return receipt came in my self-addressed, stamped envelope with the return address hand-written in by Thai Immigration saying it had been returned by Immigration Division 1, Ladprao 81-83.

So, from my mailing to CW by EMS to my receiving the return receipt, took just a bit under a month. And the receipt arrived back to me roughly two weeks after what had been my mid-May reporting date.

All in all, not much different from what anyone would have expected had it been a normal direct mailing to and from CW. And of note, all this occurred during the period leading up to and including the coup.

Hopefully by next time, CW will be back open and in normal condition.

I had to go to Suksawat to transfer my visa to a new passport and then do 90 day reporting. Took 10 minutes total. No lines. Best immigration experience I've had here. Cheers to them for doing a good job under difficult circumstances. Of course it's all luck of the draw and I got lucky.
