webfact
Pedestrian overpass collapses NONTHABURI: -- A pedestrian overpass on a bypass road in Nonthaburi collapsed and fell on two passing vehicles after it was hit by a trailer truck Thursday night. No one was injured when the pedestrian overpass near the Pracharat-Pibulsongkram junction was brought to the ground after the trailer truck with a huge steel frame for the electric train project on board hit the overpass structure.A Nissan Cefiro sedan was entirely damaged when the bridge structure fell right in the middle if the car while the Mitsubishi car was crashed at the rest. The incident caused traffic jams for several hours as the traffic police have to close the bypass to facilitate the crane truck to lift the broken bridge to the sidewalk. The Volvo trailer truck belongs Ch Karnchang, contractor of the electric train project.Police said investigation was underway to find out the cause while the company also was negotiating with the car owners for compensation.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/pedestrian-overpass-collapses/ -- Thai PBS 2014-04-

If that had happened in a first world country where engineers actually test welds and steel and concrete if used, the overpass most likely would have won. Local Drunk
"negotiating with the car owners for compensation" I'd be suing the driver, the company that owned the truck, the construction company that built the crossover and the government that certified the construction of the crossover. But it went well when he drove under the overpass to pick up the load, I am sure he is confused ..... Yes and if it had been built by a joint venture company it would have been at least part foreign and therefore a guest in this country so ... !

Som wat
Pedestrian bridge/walkway/overpass in the OP, Neversure's examples are large vehical overpasses designed for two large trucks to drive over at the same time. The sad logic of the Thai hater. Thai stoopid, Westerner inteligent. Look, let's take examples of two completely different things to prove it. thesetat2013
Come on everyone! We all know it was not the truck drivera fault. They made the steel too high or the bridge ws built too low or maybe the truck manufacturer made the truck too high. At least we know for sure the driver will not be held to blame. ozziepete
Nothing to investigate here, the load was to high and a moron did not mesure height of the load. Have you thought that he may have been under other bridges and this one was not at the height that it was meant to be? So many jump to the conclusion that the driver is always at fault.
