Filipinos second-shortest in Southeast Asia

BANGKOK: -- If Southeast Asians stood in a straight file, Filipinos would be at the second spot, in a line according to height, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

According to a study that the Association of Southeast Asian Nations DNA conducted, Filipinos are the second shortest race in the region.

Indonesians are the only people who are shorter than Filipinos in Southeast Asia.

Based on the study, Filipino males and Vietnamese males have an average height of 162 centimeters, 2 cm shorter than the average Southeast Asian height of 164 cm. and 2 cm taller than the Indonesian males.

On the distaff side, Filipino females have an average height of 150 cm. a humble 3 cm. advantage over Indonesian females but also 3 cm shorter than the Southeast Asian average.

Cambodia, 163 cm. for males and 152 cm. for females, and Vietnam, 162 cm. for males and 152 cm. for females, are the other two Southeast Asian nations who might must need their tippy-toes to reach the average Southeast Asian height.

Singaporeans are the tallest among Southeast Asians, towering over their neighbors with an average height of 171 cm. for males and 160 cm. for females.

Thais are nearly identical to Singaporeans with Thai males standing at a good 170 cm. and Thai females at 159 cm.

Malaysians round up the Southeast Asians with their males standing above the average Southeast Asian height at 165 cm. for males with the females right on the average feminine height of 153 cm.

For comparison, the global average height of males is 173 cm. and 160 cm. for the females.

They may be the tallest among Southeast Asians but you must admit they have the smallest brains.

Why are Thai men always referred to as 'males' on this forum (much like some kind of beast)? Whilst Thai women, even if fire breathing ho's are always called 'ladies', uh yeah! laugh.png

TV, I know your demographic is middle aged to old white guys, but for the sake of equity, nay, 'democracy' w00t.gif , you should call them Thai gentlemen, no?

And, yes, I am aware that not all of them are, same all Thai women aren't ho's. Before y'all start biggrin.png

The reason Thai men are always referred to as "males" is that not all Thai males are men, a lot are in the 3rd gender, legally peculiar to Thailand

I always thought Japanese males and Vietnam females will come out shortest. Need to update my info.

And while they grow taller for many of them the brains seem to shrink.

What a bunch of mistakable pricks you are, even with a bit of good news as this you all cant find anything good to say.

Of cource there is a genetic component involved, but The height of a people is among other things, is a good indicator of it's overall health

I think it's more than 'a lot'.

And the second fattest too.

Thai people seem to be good at coming second. Second tallest in SA Asia, second smallest in the world, etc.

The Singaporeans?

2nd tallest in SE Asia..... whoop-de-doo. That's like being the 2nd least retarded kid in the Special Ed class.

Okay, so let me put it this way:

Why do so many little THAI GENTLEMEN choose to drive Big Trucks?

In 30+ years I don't ever recall seeing a "Man Sized" THAI GENTLEMAN driving a truck, they are inevitably very little THAI GENTLEMEN, leading me to wonder if there is some deep seated reason for this, perhaps a Freudian Reason..... not to put too fine a point on it, but I'm sure the majority of subscribers in the Thai Visa Demographic (Old White Guys like me) will get the Thrust of my question.

Hope you and your THAI GENTLEMAN FRIENDS are happy now!
