About time we saw some class.

So, come on Belgium. Flair.

Get your @rse in gear Hazard.

Seeing as we have no Belgians posting in here, I want USA to win. Go Jellydog. thumbsup.gif

Cheers MrB !

Tough one to lose but the USA never backed down. They certainly made it as far as they could. Kudos to Klinsmann who looks to have done a fine job.

Actually, with the USA losing I don't have to agonize over a USA vs. Argentina match.

Respect to the USA team. Showed lots of spirit. Great team effort.

yeah totally carms, irespective of.the result.and peoples rather futile digs at a teams abilty, for me i thought the usa were totally brilliant. win or lose the spectacle is about pushing personal boundaries, giving 100 % without exception they did , playing for the team, even when losing not resorting to nastyness or cheating.. Big up the usa great advert for football, and me.not.exactly being a fan of the usa as a nation tbh i'm having 2 pinch myself Im even thinking that let alone posting it.

Yep. Bit like a Championship Team.

Now the real football starts.

yep the usa team work reminded me of morry's pragmatic form of play, not unlike like how they played v Liverpool.

Klinsmann got the best out of them for sure.

Be a very very long time before USA win the World Cup though.

best defensive display of the cup so far, give them a world class striker and a little bit more depth in the squad and who knows, Belgiums depth won the game for them . And the usa wernt that far away from winning last night,.had they won,tbh I wouldnt have bet against them, at least getting through to the final.

"best defensive display of the world cup".

didn't tim howard have to make more saves in a world cup match than any goalkeeper since 1966? that's not a good defensive display, that's a miracle goalkeeping performance and riding your luck.

the americans were fun to watch though and the team spirit and effort their manager got out of them was really impressive.

yep, great display, but Saves? that's really so subjective But it could be strongly argued that the defenders did enough to make the attempts saveable, sure .he made 'saves' but Belgium were equally guilty of mistakes, as Chrissy waddle said the amount of times he went down low early, far to many times, with a touch more composure in front of goal who knows, but again the usa defense didn't allow that time / space to happen,. great entertainment But sometimes entertainment aint always about flair finesse, its generally preferable, but not always essential. Any way lets just hope the next round is as entertaining s the last. so who do we reckons gonna win it?

Holland.

hmm. surely not got enough at the back to go all the way have they? though that might not matter if robben keeps this form up.

i'd like colombia to win it.

I missed the match but hope to see it on a replay.

How did that mid-field nutter Bradley get on? Did he get sent off yet?

All he seems to do is trot around the mid-field and then run like a charging bull at an opposition player who has the ball, apparently trying to scare him into passing it too early. If he doesn't, Bradley just crashes into him and gives away a free kick. Nutter.

thought he's looked a decent enough player bradley. keeps the ball pretty well, moves it around pretty sensibly.

Agreed. The USA defense was getting wrecked in certain parts of that game.
