A/C fan efficiency

Featured Replies

I kinda doubt it for pure movement of air in volume and air flow direction choices. Now from a pure electricity usage standpoint the A/C fan may use a little less electricity. I have an ammeter on my main circuit box and when in A/C fan mode only it uses a hair less electricity than one of my floor fans.

It is blowing the hottest air in the room and designed to be dispersing it throughout the room so probably not as cool feeling or efficient as a floor fan blowing directly on you.

AirCon fan works with a roller fan cage and good for circulating air, and is consuming less electricity. but it takes long time to disperse the concentration of heat in an ambient ( or amount of air ).

cooling fan delivers a large amount of air directly to user, more air is better. we 'feel' cool since the fan helps the heat exchange on the surface of our body ( a heat source ) and disperses the concentration of heat. it has a bigger motor and draws more electricity.

technically cooling fan doesn't have the cooling function, in temperature. the fan with water vapour has a better cooling efficiency due to the water vapour carries the heat away.
