UK family visa

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I would like to ask to some feed back regarding my wife's UK family visa application.

The application was submitted on the 25 of July and we have received an email today, 5th August - to say a decision has been made.

Has anybody had a successful application granted so soon?

Going on past experience we had a refusal that was issued after only 5 days - our successful apps usually take the 15 days period.

Will the UKBA make a decision so quickly based on having 2 previous successful family visas?
They will have made a decision and the speed doesn't indicate what that decision will be, they don't do the knock backs first, you will know the strength of this application.

I'm afraid you'll have to wait and see, fingers crossed.

Do let us know.

Thanks for your quick response.

I'm hoping it's just been a slow week at the embassy and they've been able to process the application successfully in a record time!

It's always a worrying time, I suppose we shall wait and see.

We're waiting for the documents to be sent to the house. Do you know how long it takes for this process? We usually pick up from VFS.

You didn't pay the extra for the quick response then?

Applied on the 22nd July 2014 and had a reply 4th August 2014, paperwork came in the post yesterday. Now have 6 month multi entry visa on a family visit for the wife biggrin.png

Congratulations. Is that her 2nd 6 month visa? If so, you can fork out a bit more next time and get a 2-year one. As long as you keep the supporting paperwork fresh and there's no abuse of any previous visa terms, it should be easy.

This is our 4th visa, we did a 2 year visa but only used it once so decided that is better to get a 6 month visa. Paper is nearly always the same but as you say we just keep it updated

Rather more personal information than I'd post but it does seem that your wife is in UK more than Thailand and they don't like that.  Time for a proper spouse visa?

Thanks, I posted in haste. I'm just making modifications to the pics.

Ok, family visa was refused as my wife has been in the UK more than Thailand in the last 2 years.

Time for the spouse visa to be sorted. Can anyone recommend a Thai visa agency in Bangkok? I think it will be safer to use an agent for a spouse visa.

I would only recommend Thai Visa Express, whilst they are based in Pattaya I understand that they have a number of clients in Pattaya.

They are are the only agent in Thailand registered with OISC, and whilst that is not a legal requirement here it indicates they are legit. They are very experienced and one of their team is a retired Entry Clearance Officer with a great deal of experience.

I understand that they will give you a free consultation, there contact details are on the right hand side of this forum.

By the way, I have no connection with them.
