My point was Adebayor doesn't want to be with us, Spurs won't pay the high wages but I presume they would pay a transfer fee. Ade's wages therefore seem to be the sticking point.

I am on a contract and work in Saudi and for that I get a premium. If I want to leave, I can but I will most certainly take a drop in wages. What's the difference?

Well BJ, if you force Adebayor to live and play football in Saudi, you may actually start to have an argument.

The problem with that strategy (and you know much better than me) is writing such an amount off is the damaging effect it will have on the balance sheet.

LOL.... Now you have mentioned a balance sheet and FFP (twice) all the course of one day. I think with the likes of PSG entering the fray we can throw all that out of the window.

In any case with losses of 190m on 150m of revenues you are not a business - you can halve your costs or double your revenues and still lose money. You are simply a cadaver on a drip feed from Mansour.

From what I recall Adebayor's contract wont count towards FFP in any case as it was signed before July 2010 and I suspect that the quicker you take the loss the better. But City are making no attempt of conforming with FFP only the semblance of an attempt to head in a vague northerly direction from the south pole.

I think that Adebayor a bit like Tevez is an instance of the club showing that they are not prepared to be bent over and shoved up the ass with a red hot poker by every player that feels it is his divine right.

I would imagine that City would be perfectly within their rights to call his behavior gross misconduct, stop paying him and sack him. The only problem would be that would effectively make him a free agent who could then sign for anyone he chose with a large signing on fee.

So I would guess they having to continue you to pay him according to his contract (without loyalty bonuses and performance bonuses) and with fines for absences or something like that.
