An American lady who should most definitely not move to Asia!

Featured Replies

The back story here is this this was this lady's last day on the job giving tourist tours of San Francisco Chinatown.

Which, yes, is kind of slummy and most Chinese people in SF of course don't live there anymore!

F word alert, you can handle it right?

Not a San Franciscan then. I get where she's coming from as a native San Franciscan. You could say the same or worse about many other neighborhoods in the city, The Castro, The Tenderloin, The "new" North Beach, SOMA, and all the places where the new Silicon Valley creeps hang out. The city's a shithole now, sad to say. No families, no culture, no color, little freedom for youngsters. Growing up knowing you probably need to move away from your home. Shithole.

I wouldn't want to live in Chinatown SF either ... but it beats the Tenderloin.

The really good Chinese food is in the Richmond District anyway.

Might have something to do with the product in the left hand, oh, and she did get applause.

yeah...all the chinese moved out to the Richmond district in the 80s...all ye got in Chinatown these days are junk stores sellin' trinkets to tourists and a couple of dim sum places and noodle restaurants...

I got a neat story about Chinatown: I was with me mum once about 40 years ago at Sam Wo's and we happened to sit in Edsel Ford Hudson's section and he tried his famous rude chinese waiter number on her...me mum didn't know what Edsel Ford Hudson was about and bein' a self respecting bolivian lady told him to go f*k himself...it was a laugh riot...

Great story, Tutsi.

I never bothered to go to Edsel's place when I lived there (he was still around) because reportedly the food wasn't that good there anyway.
