That's such a sad list cdnvic. Does no one know where he is or if he's okay?

Here's the Canadian casualty list in full:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/afghanis...lties/list.html

Three civilians not listed are:

Jackie Kirk 2007

Shirley Case 2007

Glynn Berry 2002

That list should be complete as of Sept 30.

That is the list that I used - it is all military apart from one diplomat.

The three civilians you mention I did not know about, but as I said prviously, is that the full list? All casualties?

There is nothing I can find on severely injured / disabled / missing.

Not just Canadian problem, this applies to most countries - there seems to be a concerted effort not to give out all the caualties in this war. Several thousand dead, many more severely injured or permanently disabled, others traumatised.

A terrible price to pay for keeping a fraudster in office.

No word from Kerry yet anyone.? I have tried mailing Daleyboy but, he's not getting back to me. Anyone else....?

redrus

when did you email daleyboy?

Must be 2 weeks ago now....? I know he travels on the continent a lot so, may be away.

redrus

Perhaps a post in the Pattaya forum might get a response from his mates there? Someone must know where he is.

Kerry that is.

Isn't Dale a long distance truckie these days? Could be out of touch.

I think JD knows him as well, will get on him and see what he has to say.

I know KerryD and haven't seen him for about 3 months or more. Will ask around here to see if I can find out anything.

auusiechick

I have not been able to contact him since March.

:)

Any feedback from Dale?

As I wrote earlier, I have reviewed all the casualty lists I can find on the Afghan situation, but very few civilians named. And those named are all diplomats, so the common-or-garden civilian out there seems to be ignored.

tried to call his number from two years ago, but apparently it is no longer his.

Aussiechick,

I have grave concerns and would appreciate any contact info you may have on Kerry... can you please PM me any details (email, phone numbers etc) you may have?

Nope - I have exhausted all my Canadian contacts, regarding civilian casualties in the 'stan. Guvmint just doesn't want to publish any figures on that.

I am assuming the worst, because I cannot see such a prolific poster, and such a social animal when in Pattaya, just saying "fuggit, no more TV for me".

^Well I hope your wrong, Kerry is a great guy and hopefully there is some other reason for his absence..

Hopefully he will be along any day now.

BUMP

It would appear that being made an Honoury shouldn't have caused upset and coupled with the fact he has not made contact with his friends, does appear ominous.

Does anyone know his home town? So a search could be made of the local papers?

Bump.

Here's to the young, the healthy and the horny servicemen who Pattaya was originally intended for... of which KerryD is only one of many. It provided a location for us old farts to regain our youth. :)

The problem is that Kerry is/was a civilian working in the 'stan - not a member of Canada's armed forces commitment.

I have accessed casualty records of the armed forces, including civilians such as diplomats, but not the full casualty records. It seems that the situation is the same as in Iraq, with press following what the army does, being given full access to the army, but some of the civilian employers do not give out any details. And the press just report what they are given, do not go out and investigate for themselves.

Quite frankly, as he has not posted since about March 2009, I am assuming he is a casualty.

Humphrey,

Whilst others obviously share your concerns, I have read that only 3 canadian civilians were killed in Afghanistan, so far during 2009, 2 of which were diplomats, thus only leaving 1 canadian civilian deaths.

This was only the information I could find using the internet, perhaps you have other information.

I accept that it may be the case that he has been injured, which whilst not being good news is better than joining those other statistics.

Its such a shame that nobody seems to know the name of the organisation he was working for, perhaps some of this could be cleared up with a few phone calls to whoever they are.

I hope Kerry comes back online soon. :)

His postings here stopped only a few days after returning to Pattaya from Afghanistan. I think he was a pretty regular poster from both places, so I'd be more inclined to think if something's happened to him, it is in Thailand. Also, I might be wrong about this, but didn't he mention something about moving his dad here to Thailand? Local Pattaya folks could check the Harley shops I supopose as they would likely have known him since he bought one this past year.

OTOH, he always struck me as bright and clever guy witha good sense of humor. Maybe he's willing to invest in a year of non posting to see if "Would Kerrd Be Missed". I hope that's the answer.

Here is part of his PM to me on 2009-03-23 09:16:32 and he was seen last on the forum on 2009-03-23 09:38:37:

Now I'm back in the 'stan, have caught up on what did (and didn't) happen while I was gone and am settling back into a normal routine.

The temperatures here are getting into the mid to high 30s already, yet I barely have a drop of sweat. Unlike Pattaya where it wasn't as hot but I felt drenched everyday. Only 3 rocket attacks in the week I've been back !

Ah well. Less than 3 months to go before I'm back again. Hopefully the next trip works out a little better. At least I got to do the Burapa Bike Week (and the big ride through Pattaya) for the first time.

Talk to you later !

Kerry

Given the above, I'm more inclined to think something happened to him in Afghanistan.

what if we moved this thread, or at least the latter part of it to the pattaya forum?

perhaps some more people might become aware that we are trying to locate him, and somebody with news might be able to shed some light on this,

or maybe there are friends of friends who can pass the word around?

there could be any number of reasons why he has stopped posting, but if word gets to him that friends are worrying about him here, Im sure he will come back to let us know hes ok? :)

That's not a bad idea Miggie... but maybe start a new topic rather than move this topic (or parts of it) out of Bedlam...

I also think that such a topic would be best started by someone other than a moderator... we could then post in support of the inquiry and add our own personal info such as I did above.

Anyone want to give it a go?

Humpf? Moss? Anyone?
