Khunying Porntip reinstate as head of CIFS



BANGKOK: -- Khunying Porntip Rojanasunan has been reinstated as director of the Justice Ministry’s Central Institute of Forensic Science by the cabinet on Tuesday replacing Lt-Col Anek Yomchinda who was made an inspector-general of the Justice Ministry.

Her reinstatement was a vindication after she was shunted out of the CIFS to become an inspector-general and an advisor to a policy and strategic committee to resolve unrest problem in the Deep South by the Yingluck government.

Also on the same day, the cabinet approved the following appointments:

Pattani deputy governor MrKwanchartWongsupranan, Narathiwat deputy governor SupanatSirinthaweeneti and MrsKittimaNualthawee, deputy director-general of Comptroller Department were named deputy secretaries-general of Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre.

Saw a show on TV a while back about her and how she was transfered to another position to try keep her knowledge and skills away from investigations that could have stirred the pot a little to much if she was given access to the necessary info in certain cases

If this woman is to enjoy any respect she must clarify/apologize for her cretinous remarks over the GT200 golf ball finder. Her comments, that it worked and was useful, could have served a purpose in that militants were scared and deterred from transporting bombs, but she had better be clarifying this, and PDQ. Shame to keep going on about this episode in her history, but it was totally dishonest at best, and she has nobody else to blame for this.

I was originally convinced by the barrage of favorable stories in the press about her crusade to force the police and the courts to start using real evidence and scientific techniques, but her strong support for the gt200 reminded me of how the media are used by the elites to control public opinion. Now I'm less sure.

and I always suspected 'she said what she was told to say', under duress, used partly as political cover to discredit her.

Seems that duress is no longer in play. There are always many more levels of things happening here,

than are obvious on the surface.

If you look at her qualifications and the position she has been placed into then look at Surapong's qualifications and look at the position of foreign minister that he was placed into one can see it is not if they are connected that counts. It is competence for the job that counts. That is what the voters deserves and even though it is inconsequential what the Junta think of the voters they admirably are not holding them in contempt.

Her hard work and dedication during the tsunami was even recognized by the highest power in the land.

She is very qualified, very competent and yingluck recognized this by transferring her out of the position so as not to show the red shirt terrorists or watermelon police for what they are. Which was a administering unequal protection under the law. Another principle of democracy broken.

It si the same people here that denounce Porntips appointment yet defend Surapongs, Chalerms and yinglucks. All completely unqualified for positions they were placed into!!

Always wondered about these scanners for it is not just Thailand that was fooled but many countries around the world where their military and police bought the things.

Could it be that the ones that were given out for testing did actually work ?

After all there were independent tests carried out in many countries which appeared to indicate they worked well.

Then the ones that were delivered after that may have been substituted with cheap junk.

If this is the case then it is not the fault of those who did the initial testing here or anywhere else but the con artists who fooled so many people.

Anyway those who manufactured and sold them have already been sentenced and jailed.

That aside, the only reason she was shunted aside by the Yingluck administration was because she had a habit of doing things properly and telling the truth which made her a threat.

She was not the only one during that time who was sacked for telling the truth.

I think you missed her famed words when she covered for the RTA on the BT 2000's. Her words was that "science cant explain everything", after the army's test failed and the army claimed that the operators' magnetic field was weak on the day. How can you have someone run a science based operation that doesnt believe in science and deem relationships more important than the truth. You must remember that many people have been convicted of terrorism and drug dealing due to BT 2000 based evidence given in court. If she was interested in the truth and in justice she would have told the truth about the BT 2000. As a side note I kept her in high regard before this happened but now feel she cant be trusted.

She was not on the cusp. She supported the GT200'S effectiveness over time and under her direction it was used to determine results in a case against the police claim that a woman who died during a PAD protest had explosives.

Sigh.....Ok lets look at the facts. The GT 200 is a completely worthless

piece of crap which has been shown on many occasions. Porntip seems

like a pretty sharp woman. If not for money, perhaps you can explain to

me how she could give a ringing endorsement to such a piece of crap. I will
