BANGKOK: -- Another year, another Thai beauty returns to the kingdom uncrowned.

Although we thought Ellie’s famously long legs had a shot, the widely celebrated beauty of the kingdom’s women went unrecognized again this morning by the Miss Universe Pageant, same as it has since 1988.

I believe this is all part of a concerted effort by foreigners and especially the foreign press to disrespect Thailand and Thainess.

I think the government should consider legal action, clearly, this is defamation and damages the reputation of Thailand, as the home of the most beautiful people in the world.

Most of girls want to be snow white with looks of Korean girls for magazine.

They consider that as beautiful and we cannot do anything about it so if you don't like it you know where is airport.

Miss Universe is a corporation. They have to keep raking in the cash. No way they leave the picking of a winner up to the discretion of a few unbiased judges. They might end up with a non-English speaking xenophobe who hates children, is completely unmanageble, totally unreliabe and has a tantrum at least twice a week. Trust me, the winner is known in advance.

But the ploblem is, any Thai going into a contest like this has been thru the filtering process in Thailand - white skin, surgical tampering etc, so she looks pretty to Thai people, but not the rest of the world. So sad. Thai people have a warped view of it all, they don't have the confidence to be themselves.
