Nice 3 points last night lads, though I understand Kane is claiming his goal because it went in off his scrotum.

On his MOM performance alone, Eriksen deserves to be awarded both goals, even if it did skim off Kanes shoulder, the free kick was already goal bound.

A good 3 points, from a solid performance, although Lloris has again

gifted the opposition another goal, which is starting to become a little habitual from him lately.

A lot of debate currently about who will keep goal in the semi final.  Personally, i'd be happy with Vorm and think he might just get the nod.

Apparently Kane turned up for training yesterday in a green jacket, claiming he'd won The Masters:biggrin:

Yes, its a bit silly is this, appealing over a goal.  Bit surprised really.

He's not perfect after all.

Vorm has played in all the previous FA Cup games so i don't see why

he shouldn't continue, he's been playing well when selected.

Lloris could benefit from being dropped for a few games so he can

gather his focus back again, this tactic has worked with keepers before.

If we can win the FA cup trophy , I can live without any more titles for the next 5 years , so important is it to win something after all these years.   And it will silence some of the criticism , I am tired of hearing about we never win.

^Like your honesty.

Funny how people talking about winning titles (for trophies). I remember when Mancini used to say titles and it made me laugh but it seems to have gone mainstream these days.

I didn't see that. Well, last I heard he was saying the ball came off his pituitary gland.

A bit unseemly the whole business, and surprising.

Bloody hell..impressive.

Go easy on us. We're having a late season crisis.

Of all the teams we've played this season only City and Liverpool I would fear playing.

I make no predictions on this one but I will have my twenty quid each way on the nags as I do once every year.

Runner up last year so let's go one better!

Excellent half from City and could have been out of sight: similar to last week. Spurs back in the game with their deflected goal just before half-time. 1v2.

City score next, think we'll go on to win. Spurs score next, think heads will go down and they'll go on to win. Can see City tiring first after the recent demanding games.

So nervous. I'm absolutely hating this!

That was a poor performance from us and a very good response from City after recent woes.

We didn't deserve to win obviously but we also didn't need the ref to award a penalty that was in fact a free kick.  No mention of it yet on the City thread,  but as i said, some go for you, some against, although i concede this game didn't hold too much for either side, our focus being on the semi, your job done really, the league done and dusted, and this game not having the importance of the CL 2nd leg.

Says enough about the game that i think Vertonghen was unquestionably man of the match.  Spurs fans going nuts about the absence again of Alderweirald was i wish they would just button up.  That decisions made, he's going and will not play for us again.  There was more to losing that match than one center back.  We needed a different game plan for starters.

City were superb for most of the first half, starving us of the ball, nullifying any press.  Have to say though, i see no improvement and no difference in Walker.  Great pace, crossing questionable and defensive positioning naive.  If there is an improvement its more down to the superb City midfield making him look better, rather than his personal development.  Disappointed to hear some Spurs fans booing Walker,  made themselves look like w*nkers in my book.  Didn't agree with that at all.

In summary, can't see us ever being able to compete with City.  Not over a season anyway.  I presume they will strengthen again over the summer too.  If we want to get onto that next level we need to spend more and i doubt we'll ever be able to do it with youngsters coming through the ranks.

Aside of my disappointment in the way we played and how well City played its important to get some perspective.  Since 28th november we've only lost twice in the league, both times to City who are worthy champions elect.  Aside of City games we've recorded 13 wins and 4 draws.  None too shabby.

MrBj could you move the post above to the City forum I thought I had posted in.

Apologies to all.

Sorry BB, I can't do it. The forum changes don't allow you to move a post on it's own. Copy the text and re-post on the City thread and then I'll get rid of the post on here if you wish.

Well , that was no fun, I guess City deserved to win the title then .

Was wondering why Harry Winks is on beIN Sports with Keys and Grey. Just googled his injury and he's in Qatar to see the world's leading specialist to try and solve his ankle injury.

FWIW. He seems a really nice, level headed lad. He actually makes more sense than the majority of those time served pundits. Good luck to him and hope he get's his ankle sorted.
