Sakura (cherry blossom) season in CM ?

We went the other week up at the top of Doi Suthep, and over to Kun chang kian village,

part of the way is single road and we were forever having to pull in the side to let others pass,

arrived where the trees where, and one of the biggest disappointments i have ever had in

Thailand,I don't even think they are the proper Sakura, small flowers ,some type of cherry.

Coming home i decided to carry on instead of returning the way we come, 13 Klm the sign

said, this road could no way be traveled on in a car, also one lane, full of ruts, holes ,big rocks,

very fortunate no one was coming the other way as no room to pull in.we were very lucky not

to get stuck, came out at Huay Tuen Tao, a complete waste of time and diesel.i don't know

if there are better displays around, but could not recommend anyone to go there.

That's exactly where we went last year and the tress were beautiful. Was hoping to go this weekend but I guess we missed it.

One of my most memorable travel moments was standing under the cherry blossom trees in Japan, watching the leaves fall like rain, beautiful pagoda in the background. It was truly beautiful.

I'll try to make it up there next year to see them. There are several places around Thailand that are great to visit when various trees are in bloom. We were lucky to see those trees with the long branches of golden flowers. Wonderful.

Those blossoms should still be there this week. Quite beautiful. The road down 13kms is passable. We did it ten days ago in a Toyota Vios. Took two hours or so but it's barely doable. Better than turning around because there was no traffic on this part of th mountain. No wonder. :)
