Chiang Mai (Honda) Car Repair, post-warranty

Featured Replies

Girlfriends 2010 Honda Jazz off warranty. The Honda dealer on Hang Dong rd wants 2000 baht for an oil change. Looking for reliable, reasonable place in CM to service the car , from oil changes to more complicated repairs/maintenance.

Oil change, change of filters (oil, fuel), cleaning air filter, and similar easy regular maintenance you can just do at any gas station you like. I like the Esso one before Tesco on the Hang Dong road (on the left, when coming from town)

Will be a lot less than 2000 baht, which is kind of extortionate, as you might expect from a brand dealer.

Won't be more than 1000 Baht.

Oil filters (genuine part) were 600 something on my car, I go get 3 or 4 at a time so local somchai can do it.. Oil semi synth 700 ish..

Yes it can be done lots cheaper than 2k but depends what they are doing.. You can have them drop the oil and put the cheapest crap in, leaving the old filter, for 500b I guess..

ive used Honda dealers in mae rim for my last 6/7 services found them very cheap never paid much more than 1000 on average for full servicing.and car 8years old now

We have an old Honda Civic, bought new 15 years ago in Bkk, and the Bkk Honda service always excellent.

We moved to CM and tried two Honda dealerships for maintenance and less than happy with attention to details, mistakes, no attempt to be polite, and charges way beyond what we had experienced in Bkk.

Now use Saveway on Mahidol Road (left side going towards the Superhighway). Not a Honda dealership but staff are ex Honda, all well trained. Costs always reasonable, nothing tricky.

A few months back they did a total renovation of our Civic, mechanical and body, including full re-spray. Always friendly, good listeners, customer focused, excellent price and great work.

They will repair / fix / service / renovate all brands.

We've had a Honda Jazz, a Honda City and our Honda CRV, ALL Serviced and Maintained brilliantly at HONDA on Hang Dong Road, CNX.

Are you just having the SIMPLE Oil and Filter Change, or have they quoted you on a FULL, Log Book Service for whatever Kilometres the car has done?

If you want the name of the Service Rep that we (my wife) deals with, send me a message and I'll provide it for you. Can tell you that my wife is very, very fussy about servicing on our cars and she has never had complaints about price or quality of work carried out here.
