Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of cultural attractions in Chiang Mai.

Poor CM.

I do hope there are enough toilet facilities for all of them??

I wonder if the airport will provide clothes hanging facilities so they dont have to hang there washing on the back of the chairs ??

The moat was full last time I drove past..

Good employment news !

Hire 2o percent more toilet scrubbers......

Will also require six seats per pax for hanging underwear.

Oh, God. Just one more reason to stay home, 18klm outside of Chiang Mai, during the holiday. sad.png

I guess they can start filling up the klong, so it's nicely sludged by the time Songkran comes around. sad.png

I guess 98% of them will have a great time, spend a lot of baht and get no media attention whatsoever.

Perhaps it's just a stage of human history that all countries have to go through.

In post-war Britain, the equivalent of today's Chinese hordes would have been working-class Brits going to Butlin's holiday camps dotted around the sea coast.

Cafes in Britain often had to nail up a notice saying:

"Customers are kindly requested not to consume their own food on the premises."

I can see the moat level rising over CNY.

Our family were regulars at Butlins.

Wonder why we never hear if their tourist-expectations were correct .... oh yeah I know why we never hear ...

That would be daily flights. Actually not that bad, I read that once the airport expansion is completed, it is expected to be able to handle 34 flights per hour.

Will be interesting to see if the Nimmenhaemen area remains trendy with a flight overhead every second minute…

Looking at the traffic today, a lot of the Chinese bypass the airport as they are driving here! Blue and white plates everywhere.
