New course in Lamphun

Featured Replies

Just heard about this the other day. Located on the west side of the airport. Currently 9 holes with plan to expand to 18. Google satellite view shows course under construction. Another reason Lamphun is looking attractive to re-locate from the overcrowded CM.

PS, Royal Chiang Mai promotion: 800+caddie, 2 sharing buggie 1500 each inclusive. 7 days a week. Course is deserted and in decent shape

That's good to hear...the more courses the better...more competitive!

For those golfers in the CM area that are interested in playing competitive league golf you might want to visit...

www.chiangmaisanuksabaigolfers.blogspot.com

They host (3) competitions a week at (3) different area courses.

Looks like it. I havn't been yet. I was just told you have to cross airport property (coming from the east) to get to it. Is 600B for 9 or 18? North Hill is only 9 holes for 'about 3 month' while they make some changes. I understood it to be closed Monday also.

Thainess strikes again.

Because of lack of players Haripunchai will only open at 11am weekdays! Who wants to start around of golf at that time in this heat, nuts!

6am weekends.

Played it yesterday. Best deal in the area by far at 600B. My caddie was ok, but I don't expect much. Interesting layout in good 'new course' condition. Quite a few demanding shots. Reminiscent of Singha Park, very open, but newly planted trees will define the holes well in a couple of years. The pro said there are plans to add another 9 in maybe 2 years. New driving range is open and construction underway on a clubhouse. Easiest to find coming off #116 from the east. Will be a first class facility when completed.

Is that 18 holes now?

And are they still insisting on opening at 11am weekdays?

Busy on Sunday?

Thanks

Only 9 holes for now. Don't know about midweek times. Not at all busy, saw no one for most of my 1st nine. 2 groups on buggies started at same time I started 2nd nine. Maybe 4-5 groups on the course

An update. Now open 8 am Tues -Fri., closed Mon. Open 6am Weekends and holidays. 1000B with proof of residency. A couple of new bunkers are going in. 2 sets of tee boxes for the whites makes it a little more interesting. Designed by Japanese designer with a couple of courses in S. Thailand.
