March 29, 200421 yr Just curious if you can give any idea what nice apartments go for in the Pattaya area... I'm looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom in a nice building, with 24 hour doorman security, some kind of pool. How much more expensive does it get in one of those "serviced apartments"? How far out of town does one have to go for the prices to drop? I've seen some on the internet, they seem expensive. Where is the best place to find an apartment, (real estate agent, classified ads, etc.)? Any help appreciated! Thanks, Jim (weho) [email protected]
March 29, 200421 yr in ther main area of pattaya you will be looking at 25000bht+ at best for a good 3 bed apartment. i live on a village in south pattaya 5mins from walking st, beach rd, i have a 3/4 bed bungalow which is very nice and i pay 20000bht a month on a year contract.
March 30, 200421 yr Studio apartments go for 10 thou - 12 thou, plus water, electric and phone. One bed are up at about 18-20 thou. Remember that security guards are there to protect the property, not you. They will hassle guests, demand ID's, so on. A pool is nice, but what happens when the Condo owner decides that it is no longer free to residents, wants to charge a membership fee? (Yensabai Condo, a couple of months ago) (The residents refused, pool empty for a month, people moving out, owner back-pedals)
March 30, 200421 yr Price and availability also depends on how long you want to rent for. Many owners will not rent out for less than 6 months often a year. Others are happy with 1-4 months but at a higher price. View Talay Condo has a lot of property for rent for short and long term. Studios start around 12-14,000 month long term and keep going up to 30,000 for 2 bedrooms. Fair Properties who have an office in View Talay seem to offer loads for rent but they also have a habit so I am told by some owners of inflating the price. i.e owner wants 14,000 month, they then advertise it for 20,000 and keep the difference as well as the fee paid by the owner. Look around, there is lots available.

March 31, 200421 yr You probably will not be allowed your dog in an apartment,so maybe you should be looking for a house. Have you been to Thailand before??
March 31, 200421 yr Author Yes, i've been to Thailand maybe 12 times. Does anyone think there are any condos/apartments that will accept a dog, or should I just be looking for houses taht accept dogs? thanks!
April 2, 200421 yr Yes, i've been to Thailand maybe 12 times. Does anyone think there are any condos/apartments that will accept a dog, or should I just be looking for houses taht accept dogs? thanks! You should see some of the dogs I brought back to my apartment Seriously, though. If you have a dog, what is it used to? Running around the house? Running around the garden? Running around the streets? Out here there are dog diseases like you've never seen. Falling coat, painting it with red stuff to control the baldness. Sores, internal troubles. You have to take strict control of the dog, it should be content with less eercise, hotter weather, so on. Pattaya isn't as bad as some places, but it isn't Northern Europe or the States.
