Water off a Ducks back Lokie. Blatter isn't just the President, he is the President of everyone................. according to him.

He can't go much bloody lower, but after that comment, he really is at his lowest.

No surprise that his main support came from Africa and Asia, where corruption is a way of life.

Totally agree, hardly any euro countries have supported him.

Totally corrupt old man.

Shame there wasn't more candidates.

it does beg the question as to how the French and Spanish saw fit to vote for him.

Interesting also to know why Platini chose to vote for Qatar.

He's got a touch of the Margaret Thatchers (later years) about him ("we are a grandmother", using the royal 'we'). Mental condition, borne of too much power for too long. The men in long coats will eventually come for him just the same.

33% doesn't count as hardly anywhistling.gif

And the reason other candidates pulled out was to avoid splitting the Anti-Blatter vote.

France voted for Toad as they have 2019 womens world cup slotted (and the only reason)

Hope Austrailia have a good go in the courts over their attempt to recover lost funds in thier bid attempt if it is found to have been rigged against them... another good bout of publicity for Toad and FIFA, the sponsers will be loving it for all the wrong reasons

Also hope EUEFA pull out of 2018 World Cup, kill two birds with one stone - Toad and the other little Gremlin, that would be good to see, and watch all the crap fly and fingers pointed lol

it's absolutely nothing to do with the massive trade links between france and qatar which include qatar sports investments (QSI) buying france's biggest club PSG. nor is it anything to do with michel platini's son laurent being given a job as chief executive of burrda, a qatari sportwear firm also owned by QSI. nothing at all. move along, nothing to see here.

The end of a rotten to the core era.

So what next for FIFA?

A World Cup in Russia is nailed on....Qatar looks much less likely now.

What do you think?

but yeah, what's next? russia and qatar world cups are now surely impossible?

Amazing news. You have to wonder has the prospect of finding a smoking gun in the near future begun to materialize.

whistling.gif Today is 3 June 2015 and I just woke up to the shock news that Blatter has announced he is resigning.

Another election will be held in a few months to replace Blatter.

I believe one of the big international companies..... possibly Coca-Cola ..... pulled out as a sponsor .... and without sponsor money there is nothing for bribes.

I bet Mr Viagra himself, Pele had wished he kept his stupid trap shut for a further forty-eight hours rather than giving Blatter his full backing saying he was the right man to reform FIFA. What a <deleted>

Every single FIFA member who voted for him should be questioned thoroughly by their own countries Football Association's. Particularly the European members who voted for him. If say Greg Dyke had voted for Blatter, the British press and public would be all over him.

While the odious little toad has gone ,its 5 days too late.He would have known then they were coming after him.He might be corrupt but clever in that he can manipulate people like putty in his hands.Ego may have been his downfall. This is one unholy mess to clean up and before we get too excited the African/Asia block still hold the trump cards.

I would have liked to see David Gill who has deservedly a great reputation and stature throughout Europe be the top man but the African/Asia block would never go down that route.

Pele has lost me,for a man who has lived, and cashed i,n most of his life on his previous reputation...his credibility is now zero.

Yes its great he's gone but the general reaction in the mainstream media is job done, footballs back. Well its not, this is only the start. Footballs riddled with it. Since Blatters gone what about Platini. He's little better and only feel out with Sepp due to a power struggle. Before great mates.

Remember too, he back Qatar. How will that work for his credibility when they might well be stripped of the tournament?

Then theres another 200 odd delegates, probably all in situ waiting to back a suitable "successor" to Sepp.

FIFA needs to be terminated and all within it. Not a so called reform or restructure.

Totally agree. Something needs to be done about the voting system as well. How can a vote from a tiny place of 6,000 people be counted exactly the same as a country with 600,000,000. Ridiculous.

It's almost as bad as the SNP getting 51 MP's for representing a few million people tongue.png

The voting system is at the heart of the corruption. Its what makes it tick. Then you have the sponsors. Its their financial backing that made FIFA continue to tick along.

On other points, i'd love to know the smoking gun thats made him resign so rapidly from the arrogant, gloating little turd we watched giving his victory speech last week.

As as for the SNP, they won the 51 seats and fairplay to them. if i were a sweaty i may well have voted for the too but at the end of the day the good lady leading the SNP has a striking similarity to Mrs Krankie that i can't take seriously, she has a massive chip on her shoulder too, all she will do is wind up the Commons and it won't help the jocks.biggrin.png Ask Smokes, he's mad for independence!!!

Its the equivalent of the Tory party being led by the Chuckle Brotherswhistling.giflaugh.png
