First of all, thanks everyone whose viewing my post..

I would like to check with u guys, how they (mea/pea) laying their electricity power supply cable to my factory? Underground or electric pole?

We are applying 700A three phase power supply from them, currently we are planning how to run the M&E services for the factory..

Please advise..thks!

It will certainly be overhead, and with a supply that size (around half a megawatt) you will likely have your own transformer with 25kV incoming supply.

PEA quote us for transformer at 595,000 baht, deposit at 200,000 baht, meter at 48,150 baht, and site survey at 5,000 baht..

Is that reasonable price..

Hi

With that amount of power you require, have you thought about Solar power & storage. Is your factory 24 / 7.

I represent an Australian firm, who is in the process of starting a joint venture with a very large Thai public company, they have developed world first latest technology of storing electricity during the day & then using the stored electricity at night.

Without going into detail you power bill will be very large there could be large saving of going solar power.

If interested PM me.

Bruce

I’ve heard transformer quotes at around 500k, so that sounds right. The deposit is based on estimated use, and is a deposit that will be paid back once the service ends. Don’t know meter prices and if you can buy a meter yourself. Normally meter will be placed after the transformer, at the 220V side.

It’s common with power supply from poles, but you may be able to have underground cable, if you pay the extra cost. Depending of where the meter will be placed – often at the transformer pole right under the transformer – you can make underground cable at your end from meter to factory/building.

Not necessarily. There are many methods of storing energy for later use. One simple technique is to pump water into tall water towers during the day, then allow that same water to fall through electric generators during the night. You can also store the heat from the sun in large underground containers, then later use that heat to make electricity. At least one company in the world is developing devices called "super capacitors", which store large quantities of electrical power in a relatively small space.

Where are these "simple techniques" being used? And, the large underground containers to store heat and then make electricity. I want one. How to do?

...and no mention of conversion loss

Surprised I haven't seen a concentrated solar power tower/plant proposed for Thailand.
Connect that to a compressed air station and Bob's your crazy Uncle.

Google, "underground thermal storage",...that will get you started.

Let's get back on-topic shall we, the subject is "getting a reasonably large supply from PEA".

Post #3 asks if 600k Baht + 200k deposit & 50k for the meter is reasonable for a 1/2 megawatt supply (own transformer).

We pay the MEA a 48,000 baht refundable deposit for our meters. Make sure you keep the deposit receipt in a safe place. If you ever want to reclaim the deposit it's much easier with the receipt.

We also list the deposits as company assets.
