Greetings!

The problem is iTunes music services don't allow to manage your purchased music freely, and the only place you can play a file purchased through the music service is on a computer with iTunes that is authorized under your account!

Here's an interesting soft to cut the DRM scheme -

As regards Napster music service the situation is the same.

There's also tons of software out there to remove the DRM from iTunes... or you go the manual route, burn the DRM-iTunes Music to a CD, then rip the CD to mp3. Works just fine but more inconvenient.

As much as I hate the DRM, Apple at least is more flexible with it than the other providers; there is at least a mechanism to export it to a non-DRM format.

All told, the best solution is still to buy a CD and rip it yourself; you get MUCH better sound quality.
