Not intelligent enough to grasp that some people are able and willing to pay for quality, it seems.

As I said before, I can buy these products where I live, so I have no need to order them online. If I lived in a more remote location, though, I probably would.

People are ready to spend a fortune on the mobile phone, car or watch but they are ready to fill complete junk into their body and often harm their health.

It doesn't seam logic....better eat some good meat without antibiotics and use a 2 year old mobile phone.

Pork pies, sausages and red meat. Oh yes, very healthy.

They haven't killed me yet and I am 71.

There's plenty of 71 old smokers as well, there's also a lot more who died younger.

The shipping cost itself is preventative IMO, but I do wish you well.

BTW origin and breed of beef? Now if you could put Wagu (Kobe beef) (NOT 50% 50% as is often sold as Wagu beef, on your list then you may have a chance, I would be happy to buy from you as it's cheaper than the two tickets too Japanthumbsup.gif

Our dry aged beef is from Holstein cattle and is sourced directly from the farm in eastern Thailand. Our Tasmanian Angus beef is from Tasmania and the cows roam freely. Our Certified Angus beef from the USA is the highest grade beef from the USA, and our prices are around 25-30% cheaper than leading supermarkets. Since we can buy direct we can offer wholesale prices to our customers for some items, this one included.

In about 2 weeks we will be able to offer for the very first time ever in Thailand... Thai Wagyu beef.. marble score 2-3. It is available exclusively at PassionDelivery and will be one of the items available with PassionBox nationwide delivery. It is not usually available in Thailand because all the wagyu is usually exported to Japan! Indicative pricing for the ribeye is 2700 baht per kg. The same quality in a good supermarket would be around 3700 to 4000 baht.

We may also soon offer olive wagyu from Japan, unbelievably tender it just melts in your mouth... no indication about pricing at this stage...

I think it is a nice idea for the interested people and i wish you well.

When i'm back home i will try it for sure.

I've been following this thread with interest and decided to order a Passion box to see if the service was any good. I have no connection with this company and I do enjoy good quality food.

I spend time in Chiang Mai at the moment and love meat, so I ordered some dry aged beef last Thursday evening (1 each of tomahawk, ribeye, striploin, tenderloin), US Certified Anugs Beef (1 x ribeye and striploin) and some Sloane's sausages (Cumberland and Toulouse) and UK bacon.

The box arrived 11:30am this morning and was well packed. The goods were completely frozen and each one neatly vacuum packed. A good start. I have put some in the freezer and some in the fridge and will let you know once I have started consuming the goods ... watch this space..

Just a question, How long took the transportation ? (travel time)

Good idea, very good selection.

Hope you will open a shop in BKK.

I like to know what I am eating so I usually study the labels,

(info re nutritional facts etc, so many %/g/mg of this and that etc, didn't find much of that for the products I checked on your www site)

(This is the first time I encounter Paypal and 5% surcharge, a bit stiff, but doesn't bother me, for some reason I just cannot use Paypal in Thailand, doesn't work here for me.)

Bank transfer is fine.

A few times you have mentioned seafood/coming. Considering your delivery times I take it that what you offer is frozen seafood delivered on ice?

I like this concept. Good stuff!

Some products have labels but some don't have full nutritional information. It is mainly because many of these suppliers are artisan makers and although they know their products well and know they are excellent quality and what goes into them, they haven't yet got round to printing out the full labels. What we can do for now is if you want to know the information about certain products, please email me at [email protected] and we can ask the vendor(s) to provide the information. We will also start to add this information to each product on our website so everything is transparent.

For PayPal, when someone pays us we don't receive the amount they send, it is usually around 5% less. We are looking into the reason and if we can find a way to avoid this fee we will not have to add the extra 5% fee that PayPal seem to charge us. Thanks for pointing this out to us as it helps us keep improving our service. So far several of our PassionBox customers have paid by PayPal (we send you a link to make the payment after we have packed and weighed the goods) and there seems to be no problem. If you like, after you place your PassionBox order and want to try to pay by PayPal we can go through the same process and see if it is smooth? Bank transfer is also fine if you prefer. We aim to have a credit card payment option available as soon as possible.

Our seafood selection is now online here http://www.passiondelivery.com/collections/seafood. We send our seafood frozen and packed well in dry ice so it reaches you in perfect condition. Our deep sea cod and smoked manuka mussels seems especially popular at the moment.

Gradually introducing nutritional info on your www site is probably a good idea.

(Just cannot use Paypal in Thailand, doesn't work for me, have tried for years, never mind. Bank transfer and later on credit card is just fine.)

Looking forward to my first box filled with goodies.

Travel time must be around 18 hours. Passion delivery said they send to the logistics depot by 4pm and I got it by midday the following day. There was still plenty of dry ice in the foam box so I suppose it would still have been fine for another 12 hours at least.

Update from my passion box order so far....
The sausages and bacon from Sloane's were great. A nice treat for breakfast this morning! I will try out some of their other sausages next time.
I've tried the striploin and ribeye steaks. The striploin was nice although it had a bit too much fat on the edge for my liking. This probably varies from cut to cut though. If cooked correctly the steaks are very tender with good flavour. I will cook up the Tomahawk with friends in the next few days.
Overall the quality of the products I've tried so far is excellent and the prices are in my opinion quite reasonable.

I live in the sticks in Nakhon Sawan Province. When I was at Makro last month I bought a package of four Australian rib-eye steaks. I tried to cook one and it was garbage, no marbling, full of water and tough as shoe leather. I ground up the other three but the mince tasted like crap so I gave it to the dogs.

So I gave Passion Delivery a try. I ordered 14 items that came from 7 different stores: 2 tomahawk steaks. 2 whole flounder,3 packs of English crumpets, a fisherman's pie, two cottage pies, blue cheese, 2 hamburgers, 1 lamb short loin saddle, 2 rib-eyes,smoked ham, Cumberland sausage, pork and leek sausage, and chorizo. I placed the order on Saturday and paid via bank transfer on Tuesday. The order was shipped Wednesday afternoon and I intercepted the package at the couriers' station in Chainat and everything was in my freezer by 0800. So far I have tried the cheese, the crumpets, the ham and I just finished half of the tomahawk. It was absolutely delicious and I could cut it with a fork - pictures attached.

I will definitely use there services in the future and stop trying to find anything edible in the local markets. There service was great.

Never mind the doomsayers. You are offering a service for people who miss some of the things they are used to in their life and I wish you good luck with your business.

Personally I missed some decent bacon so much that I consulted the YouTube oracle and started making my own (delicious it is too) otherwise I would have been up for some of those tasty looking rashers.

This is the first time that I have rad completely through this thread. There are a lot of positive and negative comments. I used them for the first time this week. There service and the quality of products is excellent as posted in post #135 above.

I live in remote Nakhon Sawan Province, in farm country. The closest Makro is over 100 kilometers away and my last experience with them was a disaster, posted above. I ordered a "sample" box from them with products that came from 7 different stores. I ordered on Saturday, a normal day off. They put together the order on Monday, some items had to be delivered and weighed and they sent me the total price and I paid via bank transfer early Tuesday morning. They had to vacuum pack and freeze some of the fresh items which was done on Tuesday and they shipped Wednesday afternoon at 1401. I picked up my order at the courier's depot in Chainat before 0700 Thursday morning and the meat was in the freezer at my home before 0800. I picked up the package at the depot because I live in the boonies and the driver's of the courier service are lazy and brainless and can't follow directions, I've used them before. They would rather just call on the phone and have me meet them somewhere.

So I ordered from 7 different stores. If I were to purchase the items direct I would have to drive to Bangkok, 250 kilometers. I don't have a clue where the stores are located but once I found them I would have to fight traffic and then parking, oh what fun. Then after that I would have to drive back. If I was able to find the stores it would most likely take more than one day so I would have to stay the night, hotel + entertainment charge. My truck gets about 10 kilometers to the liter so fuel alone would cost me about 1400 baht (500k + running around). The price that I paid for quality products and the 590 baht delivery charge was well worth it. Maybe if I lived in Bangkok, knew exactly where the stores were located and could use public transportation I would have different opinion but I doubt it.

I give a five star to them. The only question that I have is why Passion Box? The girl at the courier's office wanted me to open the box there. I think that she thought that it was full of sex toys! thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

Glad you are enjoying our PassionBox service and the goods so far.

I would be keen to know how you cook your tomahawk steak. We have tried many different ways to cook it and think the best way is like this:

http://www.passiondelivery.com/pages/how-to-cook-a-perfect-tomahawk-steak

Another option is to add a final step and that is at the end to put the tomahawk in the pan with a generous lump of butter and some rosemary, then baste the meat for 2-3 minutes to give it a rich creamy flavour... also fantastic. Make sure you let the meat rest for at least 10 minutes before eating (to let the juices spread out evenly within the meat as this will make it very tender....)

How about a taste challenge? Order some of our Sloane's UK or US bacon and compare with your own. If yours is as good as Sloane's you have a good shot at getting it into the supermarkets here in Bangkok!

Also one way to reduce delivery charges for our PassionBox is to combine your order with friends or family. If 2 of you combine orders you only pay 295 baht each (590 baht divided by 2). If 3 of you order the delivery charge per person is less than 200 baht each, a bargain!).

We can ship up to 12kg of actual product in any PassionBox (the other 8kgs will be dry ice). Each box we ship cannot be more than 20kg in total.

IMHO I think this is great and other services like it....

I have literally just got home from a visit to the UK...Don't talk about expensive please!

OK, if you eat western food day in, day out, every meal....Just go home, you'll save money, but I feel if like me your, eating 3 or 4 Western meals a week and living in the back end of nowhere it's a good thing.

So yer, good luck to this enterprise, I'll have a look and maybe place an order......

I wish I could give you more than 1 like thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

I gave him one for you.

The pics look fabulous!

Thanks. The food tastes as good as it looks. Our team has personally tried every items several times to ensure it meets the high quality, consistency yet reasonable prices that we are becoming famous for.

BTW we just added the shima hokke fish from Japan (so easy to cook, just grill it and add some soy sauce).

Salmon fillets, smoked salmon, snowfish steak, lamb shanks and beef ribs will all be online this week too ....

Do you take credit cards yet?

At the moment we offer bank transfer and PayPal which you can select prior to check out. If you are ok with PayPal (which you can use to pay by credit card through your PayPal account) we will send you the link to make the payment after you place your order. If you don't have a PayPal account it takes about 2 mins to set up and link your credit card to it. You will be automatically directed to this after you click the PayPal request link we will send you.

We are trying to find a proper credit card option ASAP but it seems that we will have to move our website away from our current platform as it is not supported by the major payment gateways in Thailand. Unbelievable but true. We will try to get this sorted out ASAP but as you know in Thailand, some seemingly simple things take ages to sort out...

Thanks for your patience.

@PassionDelivery you may already be aware of them, but 2C2P are head and shoulders above the rest here - http://www.2c2p.com/

Thanks a lot for the recommendation. Actually we were in talks with this company as they seem to have a very good reputation.

We got as far as opening the account with them only for them to turn around at the time they were going to help us implement the payment gateway and tell us they don't support the e-commerce website we are currently using.

It is clear we have to fix this and plan to use this company once we can.

BTW, we just added some lamb shanks and marinated beef ribs to those who are tempted to order a PassionBox... some photos attached...

Ha Ha! Nice try but I like the way you are thinking.

How about we turn it around and I send you some of my bacon (free) and if you think it is good enough give me some advice on how I would market it as I have absolutely no idea or experience in such things.

It doesn't look as pretty as your advertised ones because after smoking it is hand carved in my kitchen - but it tastes like a little slice of heaven. Well! to me at least.
