I would like to know if there are any farang owning a Kawasaki GTO (aka KH125)?

Just to share some information on repairs, parts, tuning, driving, etc?

Often had thoughts of owning one but did,nt want to be known as the gas bottle guy.

Come on, don't be shy.

You will have instantly a lot of new Thai friends staring at you if they see a foreigner on this bike.

Especially if you go long distance. I was already in Sanghklaburi and Chanthaburi with my GTO from BKK

I used to have one, still got the green book though

Anyway I have some minor issues with my bike:

- in idle the headlight and turning indicator is very dim. I replaced the battery but still same problem

- once you reach 7000 rpm or around 80 kph it gets quite rough from vibrations of the whole bike. Is that normal? I thought of looking for a modified gearbox with a longer 5th gear

I had the same headlight problem, I think it was a general issue, as long as you are on the throttle, the light runs fine

I didn't have that kind of vibrations, easy to cruise at 100 km/h or more without any strange vibrations.

I had a GTO Speedster.

Okay, maybe I should go to a shop and check the engine.

Are there any particular shops in Bangkok?

And how much for a let me say overhaul of the engine? I don't want to get ripped off...

With these bikes you can go to any motorbike repair shop

Overhaul shouldn't be too expensive, not more than a couple of thousand baht.

Maybe best to agree on a price before the overhaul.
