ah come on now jelly, be fair. nobody gets sacked these days. they either part company or leave by mutual consent.

Keelhauling in the Thames scheduled for Saturday Stevie. This time its different.tongue.png

just like to point out that i posted the above before chelsea fc's official statement came out which included both the terms "part company" and "by mutual consent".

Apparently the agreement calls for one year of Mou's salary.

Mou ought to take some time off and find himself a good shrink.

I think he ought to move to East London and get his head sorted out at Brisbane Road.

Sort of like moving into a monastery for a while, be humble, work for free.

Loving this talk of Marcelo Bielsa taking over at Swansea. this would be fantastic for the premier league and a potential masterstroke by Swansea.

The "not so special one " out, El Loco in!

I'd love to see him in the Premier League. He is nuts though and would likely not last any longer than Mourinho whether the results were good or bad.

Or just maybe he'd 'take on' the little Welsh minnows and win the prem..

Luton sack john still, no big surprise

After pumping some serious wages into the club this season, 4 straight losses and a slip to 17th was just a

step to far.

i don't really see united appointing him - they considered him tainted goods when they were replacing both ferguson and moyes so i don't see them liking the even bitterer version of mourinho any more.

The fans clamoring for attacking football so you hire Mourinho ? Beggars belief that, plus management at United already have their hands full with an eccentric manager.

I don't know if it counts as taking a club from zero but making a smallish club like Porto EUFA Champions was an impressive achievement, winning the Champions League with a limited Inter side was impressive, and in my eyes he took an average premier league club in Chelsea and more than anybody has established Chelsea's current day stature as one of the top clubs in England.

richest club in portugal. incredible achievement winning the champions league with them to be fair, but they were a horrible, cynical team to watch.

inter richest club in italy.

and roman abramovich's ill-gotten money.

he's never built anything up from nothing and other that parking the bus with a squad that cost £300m i can't particularly think of anything tactically revolutionary that he's ever come up with.

All of Mourinhos teams are as you state. Pellegrini's new book puts it right that Mourinho will do anything to win at the expense of attractive attacking football (though that early Chelsea team with Robben in it were pretty attractive at times). Clubs know that when they hire him, he'll win you things, won't always be pretty and personality wise he's flawed and will embarrass the club. Still a brilliant manager though.

Watched on CTH classic match last night last season's City 1 (lampard) v1 Chelsea (Schurrle) game...Zaba sent off. Typical Mourinho tactic of keep it tight, soak up the pressure and get a goal on the break. Maybe the StevieG comical slip win or the Inter Champions League win is the classic Mourinho game.

To be fair, the last manager I can think of who has built up a team from nothing and then won anything, is Cloughie

Boonies Breaking News. Mourinho sacked tongue.png

First time, or second time from Chelsea ?

What do you mean. Roman takes him back again biggrin.png

Other Boonies Breaking News. Apparently David Moyes will take over from Alex Fergusson when he retires. Can't see him lasting long.

Now it's official that Pep Guardiola will be leaving Bayern in the summer and Carlo Ancelotti

will be replacing him.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/35144474

So that jigsaw is now complete it leaves a big question of where is Pep going to end up next season?

ManCity ?

Chelsea ?

Man Utd ?

It's also a strange decision to make that announcement now why not later on in the closing stages of the season

unless he's already prearranged his next club?

Posted

guardiola to city is the worst kept secret in football. and making the announcement now is weird yeah but at least it lets clubs know what ancelotti's intentions are. think chelsea will go all out for diego simeone now to be honest. and united probably should as well, he's excellent.

Posted (edited)

From my understanding all p g's gonna say is what he's gonna do with his future ie whether he'll stay or not but that won't cover whom he'll go to. Apparently there's an

acceptance now in Bm he'll do what he originally said move on after 3 years.

Bayern did pretty much the same thing when they brought in Pep for Heynckes. Might seem strange but it seems to be the Bayern way. No intrigue and no drama.

Yep seems like a sensible thing to want to sort your managers contract out 6? Months in advance, everybody knows where they stand. Then its up to the individual parties to announce their intentions on which point i can't for the life of me see pg announcing he'll be joining man city where a managers in place. that'll just be wrong and man city or pg i'm pretty sure wont do that.

Actually it wouldn't surprise me if City announced Pep's arrival beforehand. Recent quotes from Pellegrini indicate he's more than aware that it is a likely possibility. Better in many ways handling the change this way rather than pretending it may or not happen. More professional I think, even though I think it will be a pity if Pellegrini picks up some trophies, and more so if he wins the league.

Sheik Loadsamani would love to get Guardiola because he knows it would piss off his Barca-loving Qatari friends, if for no other reason.

They're childish like that.

I know you like to trash our owners but that is probably your most ridiculous post yet Chic. Khaldoon Al Mubarak, who basically makes all the decisions on Mansour's behalf, is one of the most level headed articulate gentlemen there is and every decision he makes is to improve the club. If we do land Pep (and I hope we do), it's because we all believe Pep can take us to the next step and not to "get one over" on someone else.

Don't argue with 30 years experience of dealing with the ruling families MrBo.

I'm telling you, it will be on his mind. They were mortified when Qatar outbid them for the premiership.

They are like a bunch of kids fighting over toys.

Oops John Henry might be looking for him as well.
