Recommended restaurant around pasang

Featured Replies

I will be visiting family in January and am looking for any recommendations for good Thai food and restaurant around Pasang north and Ban lao.

Thanks in advance.

It's the type of area where local knowledge is important so maybe getting advice from the family is the way to go.

Anywhere comes to mind in a 20 mile radius apart from heading back into the city?

You may want to seriously consider sceadugenga's suggestion - ask your relatives, they would know. I don't know anyone who lives in that area - and if others here did, they would have already responded.

Another risk of course is the family may not accept the recommendation and not want to eat there.

I've given up with my lot, any suggestions I make are either shrugged off with a mai arroy or ignored altogether. sad.png

I know of four different villages called Pasang. One in Phayao, one north of Chiang Rai on highway 1, one on the 1174 and another on the 1173. I wasn’t really sure which one you were talking about. Anyway, as the other guys have said, local knowledge is the best way to go. Ask family or ask a local business owner. Gas station attendants are probably not a good bet.

The Pasang I was referring to is the one on the 1173. Have eaten at the Waterford golf club but it was not great. I know it is pretty devoid of restaurants around there but I thought there might be something at a tourist/waterfall spot or coffee farm or something within a short drive. Probably Ban lao on the 1173 is my best bet. I think there is a cafe/restaurant at the 90 degree junction, next to the market.

Anyway thanks for trying guys.
